Hi there guys =)

I would like to know some of the stuff that is unclear to me so i hope you can (try) to answer them for me..

1.What does OEM stands for?

2.What is PCI-Express?

3.what is PCI-X?

4.anyone know where to find any info about Intels P5 ?

5.anyone know where to find any info about BTX mobos?

6. why is it important that the FSB is fast?

7.Anyone know where i can find cheap prices on hardware in Europe?

I think i have a bunch more of the, but i cant think of anymore right now... Would be gratefull if id get them anwered so i dont have to running around talking about stuff that i dont have a clue what it is...

1) OEM is when you just get for instance a gcard in wrapped in plastic. No boxes, no software, no games.
2/3) Same thing I think, check the btx thread.
4) No idea
5) see 2/3
6) FSB sets the pace of the CPU. Higher is always better :)
7) What country?

Guinny... You couldnt come up with more? :)
And its a 4 line sig policy (including spaces), shorten it.

munro said i could leave it cuz the quotes funny so ha :p :bounce:

And he has recently expressed his annoyment with it too and expressed enforcement of the rule.

Anyway, isnt Newegg in US? Its not a European store.

newegg is in the us but i believe they ship to europe.

well.. with the shipping the price even gets ****** higher than it is here in sweden....

Well why didnt you say that right away!? :D

Datorbutiken.com is a very good store (good prices, at least last time I bought from there, and a good inventory).
Komplett.se is also fairly good.

Those are the only ones that I can think of right now.

Yeah i already know about them... but thanks anyway..
its worked out now anyway, a friend of mine can get the stuff from hes "private" sources to a price thats i incredible good.. i thinks its the factory price.. yeah yeah.. its good anyway =)

Thanks all thats been helping me with does questions...

1. Not sure, but its special prices/products to be shipped with complete computers (or near complete computers)
2. New expansion slot standard as far as I know.
3. Same thing as 2 I think
4. Google for it, maybe theres a article or preview somewhere.
5. Same as 4
6. FSB sets the speeds of RAM, CPU (to some extent) and other internal components.

1. Original Equipment Manufacturer - refers to a company that builds hardware then allows another company to place their trademark on it. Very common in PCs.

2. PCI-Express a new hardware definition that uses superfast serial communications to create an expandable bus that can connect anything. Longer length allow the cables to extend out of PC (like Scsi). Will not be compatible with existing PCI cards, but PCI express should have a smaller footprint and can be configured to exceed AGP's limits.

3. PCI-X - a suped up PCI. Increases the clock speed again on the bus..same hardware. Used in servers now. If PCI-Express took off this coudl fall by the wayside except in existing server farms.

4. Intel.com ??

5. http://web.newsguy.com/nstrom/BTX_Spec_1_0.pdf

6. FSB connects memory and CPU and I believe runs to other bus chipsets like PCI. It can be critical to throughput. The CPU speed is a multiplier(1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x) of the FSB.
CPU 400 Mhz, FSB 100 Mhz
CPU 400 Mhz, FSB 200 Mhz (better, more bus transactions)
CPU efficiency is all about keeping queues filled. That means moving memory around quickly and not waiting cycles for some slower component to react. Real world--work on your hard drive then work on your floppy. Regardless of your 45 GHz CPU the world comes to a halt to work with this much maligned slower component.

7. can't help you there
