I am curious to see some numbers on the usage spike.

Our traffic stats aren't real time so they can't actually be checked right now. We don't give out figures any way. It's not in our nature to do it really. Yeah we attract a lot of traffic but we don't do a song and dance routine about it - we just don't like to.

Well it wasnt really the usage, but the difference I was interested in. Clearly HL2.net isn't really set up to handle quite this much traffic.

**edit,. looks like the boards are speeding up as everybody slows down. I suppose you can only post gold spam for just so long before you get bored and have to move on

Not many sites can handle this much traffic on one box.

We need to get another box to split the load. That'd put us in good stead - but of course - we're not paying so it's not our decision
