I started playing CS around 1.3. I played ir a bunch back then, I play it a bunch now. It's a great gate, but lately, I've been getting pissed at it, only because of the people / server there are.

Back many years ago, I would have a server I would play in. Wouldn't play anywhere else, just the same server. It would get to the point I know mostly everyone there, and they knew me. But sooner or later, they go under, and I go around trying to find a new server. It blows.

Question, am I the only one that HATES all the random sound files that every server has? I hate all the UT / Quake sound. I have ~30Mb of the same sounds. There would be Headshot.wav, headshot(1).wav, headshot.mp3, Head_shot.wav, head shot.wav, head shot.mp3. This is for every quake sound. Then there all the admin sounds, where are everything from 2 second clips of horrible sounding farts, to 8MB 5 minute long horrible screaming metal shit. The other day I joined a server, and left the room while I downloaded the map. I came back, and I had downloaded 40 MB of sound files to the admin plugin folder.

Then theres the people. Theres the 30 year old redneck that calls everyone a ******, to the 12 year old that also calls everyone a ******. Then theres people that spam "Get out of here, it's going to blow" over and over. I try muteing them, and for some reason, I can't mute their mics.

It just seems that counter strike is too popular.I know too many people that don't play any video games ever, but they play CSS. But don't say this is just a problem with CSS, 1.6 is filled with asshats too.

Anyways, feel free to post how I'm a whiny little bitch. But I think 3/4 of the CS/CSS players should just die.

Naw, I'm kidding, I see watcha getting at. I always wield my own server with password, allowing only a select few to enter. I do agree, CS:S is full of the moaniest bitches that ever walked the face of CS:S. Just ignore 'em. Its hard to have fun with them though.

I've always hated clans. Moreso when it's just random people. I can see "hey, we all know each other in real life, lets play together and all that". That's fine. But I think "screen name - LOOKING FOR A CLAN" is dumb. Along with cal and junk. I've played it, and hated it. Too much "must play at 9:00...... 9:01 "you all forfit because one guy had to take a piss".

There is nothing like finding a group of people you click with. You will have some of the best times out there. Seriously, you should think about creating your own clan or joining a clan and getting to know the guys. But, if clans or communities aren't your thing then I say deal with all those idiots, we all have to! You may also want to try scrims and 5h1t. They are a lot of fun once you get some competition going.

i stopped playing on public servers online a few months ago and when i did there were a few specific ones i always went on because they had good latency/uptime and i came to know the admins (who were on regularly).

they also didn't have any rubbish mods installed and i hated it when i refreshed the server browsing thing and the majority of them would have some stupid super heroes, warcraft or some other mod installed.

Yeah, it can be hard to find a good public server. I generally have music going when playing on CS:S pubs. That way I don't really hear anyone yelling over their mic.
DoD:source is a lot better on that front. Not as hard to find a good pub.

DoD:S on pub is good, I can't remember the last time I was on a 'bad' or 'annoying' server. It's just not as bloated with people, it seems everyone who is there is there to play it because they like it, not like CS where people are there to waste time and be scum.

to your config.cfg, delete all your custom sounds and VOILA you will never hear/download custom sounds again...

Yeah, I tried doing that before, but I put ' cl_downloadfilter = "nosounds" ' so it wouldn't work.

I ended up making a program to replace all sounds with empty sounds.


I would play more CSS with my friends, but they also hate everyone who plays, so they don't ever play. Sometimes if its a private server.

Every time I've played BF2, it's race to the cars / planes, only for someone else to get in them and take off without you. Or they wait, and take off with you, only where I then findout they have no idea what they're doing.

Its probably not just CSS. I would say that 95% of everyone in the world is a moron jackass.

I agree with you a 100%. I hate that stupid amx and admin mod bullshit but what really pisses me off is all the fu cking retarded sounds that I have to download just to play a single map. "Fart" "jackass" "fag" "boom headshot" they all piss me off and they are all so retarded. I want to seek out there creators and beat them within a inch of there lives.

Oh ya I just remembered how I hate all those fags that won't stfu on there stupid mics. Those 12 year old fags that need to go through puberty are so annoying. The retarded sounds they make and all the retarded insults and useless chatter piss me off to. I also want to beat them within and inch of their live and then one inch past it.

The mastah also has a good point on the game being to popular these days. Popularity brings too many noobs and annoying/retarded people. The same thing happened to enemy territory. When it first came out people taught you the tricks of the trade and everyone played as a team and worked together somewhat. Sure I was a noob at first but I learned quick playing with intelligent people. When they started including it with the return to castle wolfenstein platinum edition noobs came like crazy. It basically turned into how counterstrike is now. No one gives a shit about the actual objective there just there to clock kills and piss people off. Also they don't listen when you try to teach them something. Everyone used to know that when your the axis you never go on the beach in battery or a covert will disguise himself and sneak in the back door. But when I started playing again when all the noobs were there everyone jumped on the beach and shit. It was so retarded. It's too bad that game lost its competitive aspect with intelligent people. There's hardly any people that are really good anymore it's a shame.

I know exactly what your talking about..I found one good pub that I played at, but even lately, after being introduced to scrimming, and the competitive aspect of even CS Source, I've stopped playing at pubs completely..I usually play with teammates on our match server with a few other friends..

Sometimes we just hop on, go on one team, add bots to the other team, set the start money at $16000, buy up AWPs, and just shoot bots..All the while laughing about it over Teamspeak..We also get a chance to go over strategies while doing that...

Usually when I did play on pubs, if someone annoyed me, I'd shoot them to 2% health, wait for them to spray my head, then wait for the Punish TK options to open up, and press "Slay now.."

These sort of people you have to deal with every day in real life. At work, school, on the street and people in your clan(if your in one). You just have to accept that they are there. You can get round this however. As someone said in a previous post, play in a locked server with a load of friends and have a good laugh with them. Me and some clan mates have had some classic all-nighters doing this, but even then you get the kids on mics going "OMFG WTF YOU DOING N0000000000000000B?" and screaming "LALALALALALALALALALALALALANOOOOOOBLOLROFL" down the mic. Just have to ignore them to be honest. Its not too bad for me as I am one of the admins for our servers and you give them a warning and if they keep it up, bye bye! Just try and cope or find an alternative :thumbs: :E

I also play Red Orchestra but with that comes TK'ers all the time. The microphone business less so, but people can annoy you in other ways. How is CS:S a kids game anyway? I dont see many 10 year olds in the CAL leagues do you?

only problem is when I find nice servers...CS doesn't save them in my favorites....next time I load CS my favorites is blank....there's a way to enter servers in a .txt document so they appear in the favorites section...but i can't find it anywhere....or i'm retarded...anyeone know what I'm talkin 'bout?
