low Hl2 performance.

I score about 19467 in 3dmark 01 SE, and 9890 in 3Dmark 03. In the C17 maps, I average about 45-60 fps at 1024x768, 8x AF, and with everything set to high with water set to "reflect world". Is that normal? Stutters ALOT.

on Coast_4 my fps is like 35-40. Seems too low to me.


Another question I have is, if I upgrade to a SATA harddrive from IDE, would I see an improvment at all in gameplay? I have 2 SATA controllers on my mobo.

The Pentium 4 probably doesn't handle some of the more open scenes as well as the others. Your card is fine but don't expect it to play everything at high. Those numbers look about right for what you have. I don't think changing the harddrive would do anything for your frame rate.

You probablly just need to update drivers.

^^^ I can run everything on high, infact it auto dectects with 4x AA & 8x AF. But I guess its the P4. bah.

I have the latest drivers btw
