Hey does anyone know of a good mp3 playing program that uses little system resources. I ask this because winamp uses to much resources when Im multitasking.. like playing a game listening to winamp just get really choppy. thanks

In Winamp, are you using DirectSound or waveOut?

Not sure Asus, but ill find out rightnow. and btw the link that hazar posted is nothing but popups I dont know if he intentionally meant to do that or if it was an error

i just found out and im using the directsound output

Try changing the buffer size. It says
Longer buffer gives better skipping (underrun) protection at the cost of higher CPU usage when starting (Winamp decodes as fast as possible until the buffer is full). Big buffer also causes EQ/DSP setting changes to lag.

Prebuffer determines how much data to eat before starting to output sound, recommended values are 500-1000ms, higher values may cause problems.
And there is a CPU usage control. Could give that a try.

Thanks usage is about at 4.5k compared to the 11k :D

Foobar 2000, do a google for it. Iirc it was on a sourceforge page. it's the best player, takes virtually no resources (atleast on my comp) the shuffle actually choses a random song, and not like winamps bs and it's very cool. Very good sound too!
