Hi (im new here), the other day I realized that when I was playing Team Fortress 2, there were no Gibs, blood, or any other violent content whatsoever. I wan't to clarify that I do NOT live in Germany, but my game is still being forced to run under the low violence mode. I tried deleting the "team fortress 2 low violence.gcf" but steam re-downloads it again. The game's and steam's language are both english.

I would like to know if there is any way of enabling the violent content in my game again, as im running the english version. Thanks!

Do you get this on every server you connect to? Sometimes it's down to a server side setting, I occasionally end up in low violence games myself.

I could try that, could you name a server you know it has high violence?

(sorry for the double post) I hope you dont mean the party mod. In those servers gibs are replaced by gifts, etc. What I am talking about here is that in a normal server, I still don't get any gibs. I am currently re-downloading the game again.

I think someone in an earlier thread said deleting ClientRegistry.blob would fix things.

Sorry, I didn't mean the party mod. I mean the low violence gibs mode where you get cogs and springs instead of blood and gibs. Sometimes I get that in a game even though most of the time I get gibs.

Almost every server I connect to is the standard level of violence though, so if you're connecting to like half a dozen and they're all low violence then there's something wrong.

Deleting the ClientRegistry.blob didnt work (it helps when you have slow downloads, though). I find it very strange that steam is downloading the low violence gcf when my game is not in german. It sucks.

I have on occasion heard other people complain about this, but I don't remember what the solution was if there was one. Shot in the dark: you're not using a proxy or anything that would confuse Steam into thinking you're in Germany or anything right?

I remember having this randomly happen in CS:S. When you killed someone they would get on their knees are surrender. How lame.

That's like, what the hell..?!

Well, i tried running the game in spanish, but that didn't help. If i backup my steamapps folder and reinstall steam, do I have any chance of fixing this?

EDIT: 13 GB. This will take a while.

Nope it didn't work. Apparently, the problem is with my account. I am now hoing to try using a friends account and see what happens.

PROBLEM SOLVED COMPLETLY: Though the answer isn't very practical, this is what I did: I logged in with a friend's account that didn't have the problem, steam updated some files, then I relogged with my account and I had the gibs enabled again. Thank you guys for your help, I'l be staying in these forums, I like them.
