lower quality fonts in 1024x768 compared to 800x600?

Yesterday I switched my resolutin to 1024x768 but it seems to me that the letters in-game (on the scoreboard, kill log etc.) are a bit blurred, but in a nasty way (as if they were lower quality). I took a screenshot and didn't notice the difference, but in the game they are a bit crappy. Anyone else has this? Is it normal?

Its normal, been like this since 1942, the res of the fonts is changed along with the res of the textures etc i guess, makes them look fat,blobby, not sharp like in higher res. Correct me if im wrong

My fonts are worse in HIGHER res.

Maybe it's something to do with your monitor too. If I put windows in a lower res than my native res of 1400x1050, then the text on everything is a little blurred.

is there any way to play the game in fullscreen in non standard screens
mine is 16:10
sometimes it has accidentally opened in fullscreen mode but like so many other games (CoD, UT2003) i have an inch to black on each side of the game 'window' (its not actually a window - its what the game should be)
any way of adjusting this?
