Is there any way to convert a Lightwave Model to a Half life model? if so, will this be the same for Half life 2?

milkshape probably, or deep exploration. But only when they've both begun to include the updated mdl plugin, as it doesn't seem to be the same exact format as before.

Just wanted to say you are a bad ass :p. Hardly anyone on these forums use Lightwave, because its not really designed to be used for games, but IMO its way cooler than 3dsmax or maya :). I'll let you know if I find anything. And if worst comes to worst, we can convert it to 3dsmax format, and use that converter to convert into mdl, but that could lose a lot of quality. We shall see.... good luck.

yea!!!

lightwave rules...im also lookin for mdl import and export for lightwave to half life 2 so keep this goin.

export to 3ds or obj format ....get the obj impoorter for max ...import and then export to hl2 .

You should be able to import it into the XSI mod tool, I believe it might even go straight from LWO into it, but you can't get it out of the exp format once you've imported it. If lwo doesn't work you could use obj though I'm not 100% sure that will export bone weightings so you might have to do rigging in the mod tool. Of course the other limit is that you can only export 7,500 polygons.
