crit? others think skin needs to bee lighter.

The image is very blurry. And, from what I see, the trigger could use some work, and the handle looks too circular in the back and too square in the front.

Thanks I'll work on it, I could have fixed the bluriness, but I didn't have the energy to wait on the longer time it takes to render w/ AA

1) use a sharper filter (the default Area is fine)
2) use a grey backfround at the LIGHTEST. dark grey would be ok.
3) Either set the texture to 100% self illumination, or rende with lights in there.

i agree about the handle... the front of the handle is like really squarish..

NOT WHITE!

:)

ill re-render it when i get my ti4200 back, I just ordered a X800XT from Gigabyte

Im on an nvidia vanta atm

when u skin u shud start with a grey and make the shaded areas black and the highlights a lighter color.
the whole gun just looks black to us.
show us ur texture. maybe u shud just adjust hte brightness and contrast settings if u have already defined the highlights and shades...or make a new layer fill it with whit and set it to either overlay or softlight and asjut opacity.
if ur going for a bit of realism u might wnat to put a reflect map intehre as well for a bit of shiny ness ....
btw why did u quote me?

Im gonna make the skin a bit lighter, as alot of ppl think it should be lighter :) heres 4 new renders

there is something in ur lighting setup that is extremely wrong...if u have lights delete all of them and as sidewinder sugested use agrey bg......
post ur skin
and post a render of ur model without the texture and ill hlep u after that.
debugging is so much fun :D

Well, there actually is something there. I opened his images in Photoshop, edited the levels, and came up with this:

the skin should need some more work on the highlights, maybe a bit sharper mesh would do wonders...
