My PC runs porn better than a mac.

I think a pc runs almost everything better than a Macintosh, in an equal price range.

hehe you're far more susceptible to virii on a pc than on a mac ..so there

Thats the problem with porn... every once in a while, you're gonna get an STD.

Thankfully they're not permanent on the computer.

Mac owns your scrotal sack

edit: well...um...another thing you cant run on a pc: mac software

And besides, macs are a hell of a lot easier to run. And its more sexay!
And you dont have to reboot or shut down, yey!

There was a better Mac video than that in the same style, but it wasn't about games. Anyone got the link?

Describe it, please. I've seen lots of mac videos... and they are all craptacular, unless they're saying how much the mac sucks :p

I can't remember it exactly because it was a while ago, but the guy was getting more and more pissed off with the Mac the more the video went on. He was a white guy with short hair (narrows it down, I know), and a pretty good actor.

There might've been something about not being able to shut it down without unplugging it.

EDIT: Found it - http://www.whitehathouston.com/mac.wmv

Mac's are great computers. if they ran as many applications as a PC I would have never got a PC in the first place. Not only are they far more stable but they are much much faster.

....(waits for someone to challenge him) :sniper:

You know it!
That movie with the guy who is ranting about how bad macs are and how they lock up, and stuff, hes just a total n00b. The computer he used probably was like mac os -100
He was probably trying to use the computer he kicked and broke.
Haha, n00b
once again!

I think calling someone who was using a mac a noob, is highly appropiate. Irregardless of the fashion he used it. :rolling:

I love Windows v. Mac forums - they are typically about as intelligently constructive as forums about Conservatives v. Liberals, Chevy v. Ford, Copenhagen v. Skoal, nVidia v. ATI, or whatever the flavor of the month is. I have used both Macintosh and Windows of a great many varieties and neither one of them occurs to me to be better than another to the point where I would base a purchase on it. Our graphics design guy uses a PC and, amazingly, it does everything the Macintosh can do just as fast - oh wait! The software works just fine on both systems! Our I.T. guy uses a Macintosh laptop to administer the network and phone systems - nobody would even know unless they noticed the cover of his piece. I seriously want somebody to tell me something that one system will do hands down better than the other. Does one do networking better than another? Does one have a better interface than another? Graphic design? More FPU calculations? Bring on the benchmarks!

How can you possibly expect, or want mac vs PC discussions to be intellgent and rational?

I mean... come on, anywhere you go you will likely find that Macs are considered inferior, and a joke when compared to the PC. That being said, I think people just like to avoid the bone dry serious discussion comparing the two, and just lighten up and joke around.

Good question, but...

That basically ruined the whole "Intellegent and rational" conversation thing.

No right-click button on the mouse.
Macs cost way too much.
Can't upgrade as such.
Brushed metal interface is EW.
I hate that there's no "window" behind programs, so when you click off them you end up clicking the desktop and the UI of the program disappears.

The only reason macs are still alive is because they look nice, and the design industry jumped on them, somehow coming to the fact that it's better to use Photoshop and InDesign on them.

I use macs all the time on my design course. Essentially macs are for people that don't have a clue about how computers work (most teachers buy them), so they need everything streamlined.

sweet! Another 12 year old poster!!!

I like macs for one thing. Video Editing. That's about all. I like PCs for teh games, but if I ever wanted to do Video Editing...then a Mac I would use.

I still hate em though :(

whats the diference in a mac and a PC?

Many differences.

With a Mac, most of the operating is done through hardware, instead of doing it through software like on a PC, a Mac is more efficient, and they are far more powerful, but there are litteraly 6 games, as previously stated, good for video editing, graphic design etc.

With the switch to intel...there might possibly be more games out for it.That's probally one of the big reasons why apples macs never got much of a marketshare. There isn't very many games for it and the rarely supported the gaming scene, but now with this whole switch going on and the possibilty of putting windows on a mac...the gaming door has now been open.

Sadly the full transition won't be complete till 2007.

Edit: Also note this, the prices of macs will possibly be cheaper because of it.

Won't it be more like a... well... PC then?

No.

It will still all be open firmware.Bascially in other words...it will still be apples "we decide what goes in here for best effiency" and so on.The switch to intel has gave them more head room to upgrade harware so they won't lag behind anymore (they will be able to adopt new technology just as quick as the rest of the industry). Also again it will help lower prices of macs....

Just because they switch to cisc/x86 doesn't mean it's more like a pc.

I'll still stick with PC's, thank you.

Well that's your choice my friend.I plan on switching... :D

Only reason why I haven't switched is because they bearly have any fps games supported on it.

I'll pray for you buddy... i'll pray to the great gaming gods that you don't immediately die upon switching to a Macintosh.

Hell...we all gotta die some day, son. ;)

I could do a write up on the whole switch thing and so on for ya'll..hmmmm...bah I'm kinda lazy right now.

Everyone I've talked to who has tried both macintosh and pc has preferred the mac. I've never heard of anyone switching from mac over to pc. I don't use em only because I'm used to using a PC, I have my games on a PC and I already own a PC. And I like the fancy buttons on my mouse

Day 1: I'm so pumped and excited! My new Mac is going to arrive here any moment now. I feel so giddy I can just about french the mailman when he arrives!

Day 2: My excitement has winded down, to a more reasonable level, and i'm beginning to learn the new features of my new computer. All the differences are rather alien to me, but I 'think' i'm coping.

Day 3: I'm starting to think I made a mistake. Maybe those guys over on the halflife2.net forums were right? Only time will tell.

Day 4: This is the STUPIDEST decision I ever made in my life! How am I ever going to live this one down with my friends?

Day 5:

Day 6:

Day 7:

Day 8: Hey... Is this sweet or what? I found the journal of the guy who shot himself! Bob was here.

To be fair, I don't think that's the reason. DirectX was, or rather the lack of it on the mac. OpenGL games are generally ported without too much trouble, for mac and linux. Lack of developer interest (not really much point in investing time in 6% market share) is probably a deciding factor too.

Jobs has already said that prices won't be affected I'm afraid. Who said a G5 chip ever cost less than a high-end P4 anyway?

I doubt you get 3% market share simply because a lot of games aren't supported.
