Can't remember if we had a thread on this or not. Season finale was last night. Along with Dexter this is by far the best show on TV right now. If you aren't watching this yet you need to be.

The ending last night was aboslutely insane, I can't believe I gotta wait over a year for another episode.

Don is totally losing his mind. WTF was that? I was in shock the rest of the episode after he proposed, who could see that coming? The whole time I couldn't stop thinking "don't do it bro, what are you, retarded?" At this rate by the end of next season Don is gonna be in a mental home.

I watch it.

Betty's finally realised that life isn't as perfect as she imagined without Don and I think she'll try to win him back next season. And Don never stays with anyone, so it could happen. I thought that's why he was wide awake at the end, thinking about her, but I could be wrong.

I sort of knew that Joan hadn't had an abortion. Someone joked that her husband would find out it was Roger's when the baby came out with white hair.

The engagement made sense if you think about how quickly they axed Miss Blankenship to crowbar that plotline in.

I watched the first season which was great. In the second season I felt the story moved too far away from the first season too fast so I didn't get immediately caught up in the story. I haven't yet continued watching it, but will probably try to.

i started watching the first season a while back, then stopped mid-way through because whilst the show and characters was awesome, some parts of the show and the characters sucked. by this i mean basically draper's wife and their troubles in his cozy little suburban home. cut out that shit, focus on parts with excessive cigarette and alcohol branding and hot dolled up new yorkers and it's a great show which i picked up again last night and will finish this week sometime.

when it comes to TV, i'm usually pretty on the ball about watching things weekly and juggling as many shows as possible, but mad men slipped by the wayside completely. i was arrogant towards it because it seemed everyone i talked to said in conversation ''no, i've not heard of the wire BUT HAVE YOU SEEN MAD MEN????? wowowwww'' and i don't like a show infringing upon the levels of brilliance as the wire does.

It sounds like you will love the latest seasons.

But the funny thing is as much as I liked the wire I didn't think it was as amazing as everyone made it out to be. Each show has it's own quality and character so I don't think it's ever fair to compare something like Mad Men to the wire. Both have their ups and their downs and each one is a totally different show.

It's been a long time since I watched the wire, might need to give it another look again.

i'm not so much comparing the two shows per se, more their popularity and no-need-for-dispute fact that they are good pieces of television.
