Errr.... I wasted it 2 hours of my ****ing time watching this, it was crap, although the last 15 mins were decent, I feel'd some feeling and then i remember HE GONNA REGENER"****ing"ATE!

Russell T Davis has lost the plot with who, bad writing, poor effects (although cant complain, it'll probaby better than what i could if working for the bbc) Hammy ( and I mean HAMMY) acting spoils this show.

But what do I care, its a poor mans british star trek/mr bean adventures in space

BAH! I don't why i force myself to watch this ****ing crap!!!!!!!11elevenize

Doctor Who has just become more and more unashamedly about DEUS EX MACHINA DEUS EX MACHINA WOO WHAT A GREAT STORY WE ARE DEUS EX MACHINA TELLING!

Well Russel T. Davies is leaving (and only four years too late!) so maybe that will change.

lol no the baddies wanted it to but the doctor totally stopped them but it was really tense and emotional because he was holding a gun and lots of nonsense sentences were spoken

I thought it was actually better than most of what we've been put through since the Jon Simm's last appearance. So it was almost watchable guff rather than completely unwatchable guff.

This. It was still way better than alot of the previous episodes to come before.

Its John, not Jon. And yeah RTD has gone, hopefully for good, the guy couldn't write his way out of a paper bag, he has no sense of plot construction at all and have his storylines make zero sense. For instance, the doctor was supposedly killed because of a huge mass of radiation, when only a season or so ago, we discovered that the doctor could push out radiation from his feet by channeling it all through his body, thats just one of the many plot fails.

End of Time was utter pants, just a few moments of WOW but that was it. Still new doctor and the GOOD writer doing the new series, hopefully it should pick back up again.

Oh...I forgot that :|

Is it just me or did the Doctor's rant before he climbed into the radiation chamber just come off like Tennant ranting about being killed off?
"BUT I'M SO IMPORTANT"

If you actually watched the episode in question ("Smith and Jones", Series 3) rather than just copying what all the internet trolls are saying, the Doctor says that the amount of radiation the X-ray gave off was similar to the amount that Time Lords used to play with as children. It's the same way our bodies would be harmed if exposed to enough sunlight, but a small amount is harmless and is naturally absorbed/expelled/etc. from the body. The radiation from a Metebelis crystal caused the Third Doctor to regenerate because it was too powerful so I don't see why people are kicking up a fuss about the same thing happening to the Tenth Doctor.

Is it just me or did the Doctor's rant before he climbed into the radiation chamber just come off like Tennant ranting about being killed off?
"BUT I'M SO IMPORTANT"

It was an extension of the Time Lord Victorious from The Waters of Mars where the Doctor realised quite how important he is as the last Lord of Time in the universe compared to one old human being of which there are 6 billion (and several trillion more throughout time). I thought it was utterly justified. It was his conscience battling with his universal importance.

For the record I thought it was superb. The only reason I didn't make a thread here is because I know how much of a negative reaction it gets here, for some unknown reason.

Because it's Dr. Who, the worst kind of badly-written, nonsensical science fiction?

^ This.

Hey I like some Doctor Who, but seasons 2, 4 and these specials have been absolutely pathetic. Ecclestone's run was pretty good and Season 3 had some rather great eps, as well as the best finale but most of the rest is shitty shitty shit shit.

That's the thing with Doctor Who, the fans can never agree. For instance, I thought the finale to Season 3 was dreadful, only Simm made the entire farce worth watching, yet the actual season had 2 of the best Moffat stories since the series returned. Each to his own.

Yup Stemot. Steven Moffat did some epic writing with Who. 'Blink' gave my girlfriend nightmares. My favourite who episode.

Worst? I don't disagree with anything else you say, but Who easily ranks somewhere in the middle of the great Science Fiction food chain.

My thoughts exactly. The specials, apart from Water of Mars have all be absolutely dreadful.

Davies frequently makes a flying leap across the dividing line between drama and melodrama. Patetico.

This a hundredfold! Moffat's responsible for most of my favorite DW episodes..

The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
The Girl in the Fireplace
Blink
Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead

And now he's taking over as showrunner next series. Looking forward to it.

End of Time's story was mostly overly epic crap as RTD's episodes tend to be -- with some exceptions like Midnight -- but I thought was saved by the fantastic character bits, the quiet conversations... Any of the scenes between old man Wilfred and the doc were golden.

Oh and it was good to see Bond chew scenery as a timelord.

I just couldn't get over blond lightning superpowered hoodie-wearing Master. I think Davis uses the disguise of ridiculousness to hide the fact that he can't write a coherent story, so just makes an overly dramatic joke out of the whole thing.

Did he actually write Midnight? Weird, that was a good episode. Glad to see Moffat take the reigns, I hope he's able to keep up quality now that he has a lot more food on his plate.

Waters of Mars was shite. Maybe not as shite as the dead planet or whatever the hell it was called, but shite.

yeah I thought waters of mars was crap aswell :|

basically the rule with doctor who is that no two people have the same opinion on the eps o_O

Blink, The Empty Child and Family Of Blood are the best I think he's done, I just hope he doesn't get burned out on good ideas now he's lead writer.

Oh yeah, Bernard Cribbins was the best thing in EoT followed by Simm as the Master again, who is always brilliant.

Silly stemot. He didn't do The Family of Blood. That was Paul Cornell.

Family of Blood was good, but a bit overacted, well, Tennant overacrts everything but I thought it especially hurt Family of Blood and Midnight. I really disliked Tennant more and more as the show went on. Hopefully Matt Smith can do better, although judging from the little bit of screentime he got at the end of End of Time he's trying to be just as hammy as Tennant.

My sisters all prefer Tennant over Ecclestone for the basest of reasons -.-

Did you see Tennant in Hamlet at christmas? It was like watching "Doctor Who does Shakespeare", he was using such similar mannerisms.

Didn't see Hamlet, but it was the same when he was cast as Eddington (Einstein and...). His 'wide eyed distress' face seems to pop up whatever he is doing.
