Mafia is Blowing Me...

Picked up a $5 copy of Mafia today at CompUSA, installed it normally, set the settings to my specs, and started the game. As soon as the cutscenes are over and the first mission "An Offer You can't Refuse" begins, I hit the "W" key to go forward in the car, and as soon as I hit the key the game crashes beyond terminating the program.

I end up having to restart my computer. This has happened a few times and still no clue whats wrong, I can even begin the campaign at all. I'm all patched up, all drivers are updated, and mind you that Mafia was released about 3-4 years ago. I've messed with all settigns to try to get me to start playing but no avail.

Anyone who played Mafia had this problem? And sorry if its in the wrong forum, wasn't too sure where to put this.
