Lit Fuse Films, the creators behind the many popular Half-Life 2 machinima releases have a new feature. Their latest creation - Maintenance Man takes place parallel to the events of Half-Life 2: Episode 1. One man is tasked with repairing the combine citadel even as it collapses, and hilarity ensues. Like all Lit Fuse productions, this film was a collaborative work between quite a few talented people. It is not a short clip weighing in at just over twenty minutes. [br]

Really well-done and enjoyable.

Although it's pretty easy to see who's a real player and who's a npc :p

Fantastic use of whatever they use to make that stuff--hehe...

Not as funny as I thought, but who needs funny when there's life on the line?!

Huh.

The best bit was the one where the rebel got disintegrated by yon strider.

Awesome!

Some of the voice acting was a little shaky, and the ending was kinda... anti-climactic. It would have been neat if they had a shot of him flying outside of the citadel.

This makes me want Valve to release some awesome tools for making machinimas like this.

Really well edited, but mostly boring unfortunately. I see I'm the only one so far that didn't really enjoy it, so I think it's safe to say they did a good job anyway ;)

It felt unevenly paced to me, had it's fun moments but also it's dull moments :/

Good job though.

Really nice to see some top-notch stuff coming in from Garry's Mod - all Lit Fuse need now is to get Valve to agree to host the movies over Steam...

I totally agree. Very well edited, but the game itself feels like a much better movie, without the cheesy british accents :p

Actually, I just remembered the Odessa (Jeffrey) bit... "Eat shit!"

I didn't find it at all that good. Visually, it was good - the camera work, angles artistic use etc - but the writing and voice acting was sub par and if comedy was their goal, I'm afraid they fell terribly short.

I thought it was great. Very well edited and funny in that crackly british way...bravo!

The movie uses ironic comedy, often a very british taste comedy that few too many yanks (no offence) do not get, example the US version of the office.

Just no.

This is nothing like (either version of) The Office, it's more like a bad episode of Hyperdrive. Waste of time spending so much time in Gmod and getting voice actors and editing the whole thing if you don't have a solid story to begin with. And mispelling your own film title in your credits... :rolling:

Its still greatly done anyway. Shouldnt have drawn the physic gun's beams to make it look more like a grav gun.

You could still see kliener struggling after the metal panel was put on him,. The ragdoll was bouncing around lol.
