Well this isn't exactly a hl2 model, but i'm working on ths guy for a competition over at cgtalk.com and thought i'd share him with you guys so i could get some comments. (few things to not, he doesn't have a head yet, he has yet to be skinned, rigged so he is still very much a WIP) Anyway, he is going to end up being one of the guys from contra 3 the alien wars for the snes. Hope you like! i'll keep em' updated when i make well updates :) Oh yeah the hands are just place holders for the time being as well. :bounce:

Tell me what you think so far.

Whooops forgot to mention, right now he is setting at exactly 1078 faces (tris)
My limit for the comp is 4500 of course I've still got to get him a gun and some accessory, but i'll be able to put a lot of detail in the face.

Does anyone visit these forums :P
I'm about to get back to work, next update should be a finished model then its on to skinning and riggin :( i hate rigging

looks pretty good, very low poly, but i guess thats part of the comp. id like to see what kind of head and gun you put on him.

heh, yeah i'm shooting for low poly so its ok, i'm working on the head right now, he'll be a little more detailed when all is said and done. Thanks for the reply!

looking good. im finding the hardest thing to do is attach the arms and legs to the torso :(

heres a tip then, find a vertex on the torso where you want to attach the arm, chamfer that vert and delete the poly it creates you should be left with a four side empty sqaure, now go to edge mode and insert a vertex on each open edge then connect them to the nearest vert (so to keep 3 and 4 sided) now grab the verts you just created and uniform scale them until you get a cylindrical hole, then scale it as needed and move the arm into place and target weld each corresponding vert and tweak until it looks good :)

yea i think i get what your saying :D ill give it a go
