I'm not fan of the protesters by and large, but this is ****ing disgusting.

A man who died during the G20 protest was pushed to the ground by a police officer, video footage has shown.
Ian Tomlinson, 47, collapsed from a heart attack during protests outside the Bank of England last Wednesday.
Newsagent Mr Tomlinson, who was not protesting, is seen receiving a two-handed push from a police officer.
A New York fund manager recorded the footage, saying he came forward with the video because Mr Tomlinson's family "were not getting any answers".
The pictures were shot at 1929 BST at Royal Exchange Passage. They are believed to be the last of Mr Tomlinson alive.

Man Triggers Heart Attacks With Fists, Rules The World

Are you actually serious?

First of all, it's not like the cop went out of his way to push him, I would say it's pretty clear that Tomlinson was in their way, staying in their way, and being a dick about getting out of the way. I'm pretty sure I can see a smile on his face right before he's pushed.

All possibility of severe dickness aside, the pusher can hardly be blamed for the man's death by heart attack, I doubt he could even get a manslaughter charge.

It makes no sense. They had loads of masked thugs to bash, why go after an innocent man who wasn't protesting. That was an unprovoked attack and that officer should be done . Why not bash those little shits who were smashing the bank and trying to set it on fire.

Officer has to be punished for pushing the victim for no reason, there can be no question about that. But to say that he murdered him? Gimme a break.

Shockingly enough, he wasn't a College student.

Or, even worse, black.

Yes, maybe suspend the officer.

Then again, the media does tend to exaggerate cop-related violence an awful lot...

A tap on the back would have been fine, "please move along sir" but a complete shove?? nobody thinks a bully is a hero. i hardly hear of any police officers protecting citizens from violence anymore. and as someone who has been beaten by a police officer and had their wallet wiped clean i can say it does not feel comforting at all when i see something like this.

Pretty much my feelings. But, if the man's distressed condition was obvious, then somebody should have called emergency services to the scene. But it was no murder.

It does seem excessive, but then again this is what you have to expect if you are walking casually around a mass protest area which has turned violent.

I don't expect to be shoved to the ground for no reason. They weren't rushing anywhere and there didn't seem to be any violence as the Police seemed pretty casual in the video. The man was walking away from them, i just can't understand the reasoning behind it. Lucky for us we have video evidence as knowing the Met they would try to shove the blame on that man and try to make the officer the hero.

There is no reasoning behind it - it was excessive, but at the same time this happens every single time demonstrations occur its just this time a man dropped dead minutes later.

Apparently the guy had already been pushed to the ground, beaten over the head with a baton, picked up again and shoved off by another police officer moments before coming into contact with these police. So i don't think the guy was being dickish, the guy was probably in shock when he walked in front of the second group of police where this took place.

Either way, the cop hit the guy in the thigh and then shoved him to ground as he had his back turned and was walking away. That's not following procedure, that's being a dick. Even if it is procedure, its still tremendously ****ed up.
