Map Ideas?

I need some ideas for maps i can make, i can't think of anything cool........ <error user input needed>

i had a really good idea for a map , for a deathmatch stylee game , your inside a cube you spawn randomly in one of the chambers , and u have 30 seconds to escape the chamber (which range in difficulty) and then you enter the fighting arena which is littered with weapons everywhere , also has 6 towers running around the perimiter, and inside each chamber is a hatch button which randomly releases one of the tower hatches , so if a player is above you picking off players he/she coulkd fall at anytime. o well back to bed for me , its a bit longwinded , bu would be cool :) gl making it :D p.s call FFA_Exodus :D

An idea for a map that i have never seen done... nicely... is..
A college map, a map where you have lecture halls, main hallways, classrooms, computer rooms, teachers offices, bathrooms, and maybe if the level was big enough you could even have dorm rooms acrosse the way... but if you made a map of terrorists starting inside the college, say in the library, and the ct's are spawning out of a swat van directly outfront...

I think it would be an interesting map, if enough time was put into it..

I have more detailed concepts of this idea, just reply and tell me if you consider it..
 
Nice the college one sounds cool, i will have to look in to that, pretty soon here, i will be starting a cs:s website about sprays and maps. But i like the idea i never thought of that, it would be cool.

Gah! You read my mind! I was thinking of actually making an accurate map of my school, like, yesterday! It's a terrific idea.

How about attempting one of a plane in mid-flight. There's already a 1.6 map of this, but I would change it so you have to cross from one plane to another over their wings! that would rule.

what i meant was you HAVE TO use objects in the environment.
currently barrels are worthless hell they even push you back XD. damn barrels.
in any case how about the grav gun only instead you use your hands O_O;
an example would be your college level, the t's would push objects to make blockades around the hallways, the ct's could use boxes to make makeshift ladders to climb windows or something...of course there has to be a limit. like only 1 movable objects per room 2 at the most.
 
One map I'd love to see done PROPERLY is a rooftop map. A map where about 3-4 skyscrapers are inter-connected via connectors in the floors below. Figure about 2-3 floors from the roof, with office rooms, and the like, then their roof tops. I'm thinking along the lines of Datadyne's building from perfect dark. Full length windows so you can shoot people out the window, glass breaking and all. Stairways and elevators that take u to different floors and ultimately, the rooftop. The rooftop can be litered with garbage and barrels/boxes etc. Sniper points as well as close combat using the office floors below. Im not explaining myself properly i know but I hope you get the gist of it.

Three skyscrapers all connected in some way. Add walk ways or whatever to connect them. Make windows available for use to shoot at other people in other buildings etc. Use your imagination. And definately a nighttime map.

I've been doing it for a while now. Almost finished. It'll be up for beta download soon, and... that's it :)
 
excellent. just whatever u do dekstar, take ur time and make it amazing. thats pretty much my vision what u have goin on there. my only suggestion is that u use a different texture set than office from css. other than that, awesome job.

...Ah... Well, since I am a n00b at mapping in hammer, can't I texture it in office first, and then do something else when I know how? And I don't think anything other than office would fit in with it's final look. It's meant to be a brand new criminal tracking system building, which the T's want to destroy. If you can tell me how to get a different texture set I would gladly change it, though :).
