Map with exploding barrels or just physic fun?

With the SDK beeing out a while now, and with my forgotten knowledge how to use hammer I'm requesting a map that has either alot of exploding barrels, or is just fun to play.

I've seen alot of them here in videos with many exploding barrels, but asking around on IRC didn't give me much response.

I can make one for you if you want. Just tell me everything you want in it.
 
Just download Building Blocks. That's about as good as you can get.

It should be big. have alot of things to stack.
Make it a grass field or something. ALOT of barrels. :)
You can have a pretty free mind about it, and if you post it here I'll make a site for it.
 
lol, ok. So nothing fancy just a field with explosive barrels? Want some physics things to mess around with? Like a seesaw or something.

Sure, alot of barrels and stuff in general.
Wooden boxes and so for stacking would also be good.
Just alot of things, barrels and so on for stacking and playing with. :)

I did, but the first 5 pages were about HL2 reviews and pre-release information.
It keept on that way, didn't find any maps.
 
Hey, it has been done for awhile but you logged off. I'm sorry if it was taking so long but I was having problems transfering it to this computer. Anyway, I added some cool physics stuff for you to mess around with :).

Hey thanks man....I just sat down to make that map myself, decided to look at the fourms to see what was going on and viola, boom, bladow, here it is. I dont have to make it now. Tight Man thanks :E
 
Oh yeah, I have taz_barrel_launcher. I had some fun with that but I want a lot bigger map..
 
Yo ericms.....I just started using Source SDK...Hammer to play around and stuff. How do i get generic stuff, namely the exploding barrels. I tried to create an entity but there are about 50,000 different entity classes and I couldnt find the exploding barrel, maybe you could help me out with the new hammer a bit. I used to use 3.4 but this is all new and so I am kind of lost....any way if you wanna help I'll keep my eye on this thread or my AIM is Papabigface. Thanks
 
Unfortunetly, aim won't connect for me for some reason, but use prop_physics. Then go to its properties and go to "world model" and then you can select the model for it with all its physical propties already set up.

The explosive barrels are in the c_17 folder btw.
 
ok i tried, but in Props_c17 there is an oildrum but no Explosive oild drum
 
Hmm. The model should be here: models/props_c17/oildrum001_explosive.mdl

Oh yeah, get on aim if you want to now.

what is building blocks??? is it a map, a program, a potato painted yellow....what is it?
 
sorry for the double post but by the way i cant find that explosive barrel, is there a way someone could post a download of it here??? I'll try to contact someone on aim later if there is no luck here. Thanks
 
well i figgured out why i couldnt find the barrel.....mostly cause im a dumb ass but really cause when you start hammer i had it set to counter strike not half life 2. sorry for all the hoopla i created and thanks for your help....especially ericms
 
lol, i knew it had to be simple. I should of asked you that though.
