mapping game pad?

I got a game pad, but when i go to games, it wont let me map the analog stick, as well as lower r and l button. it is a xbox 360 usb controller. I can map everything but those analog and the lower r and l button. for the game pad, it considers the lower r and l button as a analog type of button, is there a way to change this so it is not considered analog type of a button?

this is the most powerful app I've seen for what your trying to do....lets you map anything (mouse, keyboard, etc) to anything on the joystiq and sets up profiles for each game.

odd, it never did that for me in any sort of game.
