So has anyone ever played Marathon? It's a trilogy by Bungie[makers of Halo] made in 1994, I believe. It's a first-person shooter about a cyborg who has to defend the ship Marathon by alien slavers called the Pfhor, who take their technology from another alien species. You are aided by three A.I. and BOBs{ Crewman}. The three games are called
Marathon, Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon: Infinity.

The games are now able to be downloaded for free with both Windows and Mac{Though the games were originally from Mac.} You can dowload the games at Aleph One

You can play online with aim, join the chatroom "aleph one"But, it's an old game, so nobody play anymore, except for old-school Bungie fans.

There's also some striking similarities between the story of Halo and the story of Marathon. The Pfhor are religious alien slavers[like the Covenant] who believe in the Jjaro, an ancient, mystical race[Jjaro=Forerunner].Except the story of Marathon is much, much, much more complicated and bettter. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some alien to Tozt:sniper:

first fps computer game I ever played ...back when mac games were cool

Marathon was cool for the time, but I doubt why anyone would want to go back and play it.

Are those links near the top for the Mac or windows version?

I still play it. Owns the hell out of Doom and Wolfenstein.
Edit: And the 10mm Flechette SMG is overkill ftw!

Marathon was amazing for its time.

<3 Bungie.

Marathon was one of my first games, got it at a local computer show type thing. Was an excellent game in the day. Those swamp things that would jump out at you would scare the hell out of me.
