Hai guyes.

At least once a year me and my friends do a "Half Life 2 Speed Run"
It means we play Half Life 2 from Gman's speech till the credits of Episode 2 on Normal without cheating.

So are there any mods that can help us?
Like show the other players in the maps?

Its a race to the end, so without noclip or jumphacks or something but we still want to know where the other guyes are at the moment, so with glowing footsteps or something
Any mod that will do this? Maybe with included timer?

I don't think so - is there a way you can all talk to each other to see where everyone is (say everyone say where they are every 20 mins or something)?

The fatal flaw for us is that when someone crosses the loading barrier, the whole level changes.
So its not really a marathon that way =[

If you have already played it, you should be able to memorize where most of the enemies are.

Also, do it on hard. Shouldn't take you much longer.

Again, I do not want to see the ENEMIES but I want to see my FRIENDS playing.
Like where they are when I am there or something.

Like when you press TAB you see where every player is currently and how much time they are behind the current leader.

So you plan on making a mod for a game that is single player into a game that supports online play (because you can't track the progress of a player who isn't online) while each player runs an individual instance of the game.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

EDIT: The only way this would be possible is if you were to create a static server (like an MMO) with the HL2, EP1, and EP2 maps on it that support multiple player connections. Not to mention that once a player triggered an event, it would have to somehow fix itself to allow the next player to activate it.

Basically what I'm trying to say is what you're talking about doesn't exist and never will. Why? Because there's no bloody point in doing all that work when the problem could be solved by getting a mic and going on Ventrilo.

You have to realize that in order to do even the simplest player tracking (a 'tracker' that shows which map the player is currently on) you would have to make a mod that would tell a server which map a player is currently playing on. How do you plan on doing that? It's just such a waste of time when you can just go on vent?

If you're such good friends (you've been doing this for a couple years) then it would probably be of a large benefit to just go get a mic and tell each other where you are.
