Mario Kart preview at IGN

The game really looks disappointing. I mean look at Mario Galaxy then this...WTF? Its still probably going to be INSANELY fun. Me and my friends cant stop playing Mario Kart for the DS.

Exactly. Very well said. I have an old N64 that my daughter & wife play Mario Kart 64 on & I got MK:Double Dash that I got so we could play it on our Wii.

Eh, I'll think about this when I'm good and done with Smash Bros.

Edit - Is it just me, or is that Wii wheel accesory thing ****ing useless without something to attach it to a table or another surface?
 
Yes, yes, yes. About time we got news on this. I hope the wheel doesn't make it cost extra.
 
Should be fun. I just got a wireless modem so I'll be able to play online without messing about with the USB dongle all the time. Nice.
 
Well, it's a mario game, meaning it will be fun. But other than the bike thing i'm not seeing how this is different from the other MK's

but i am excited to see what courses are on this one. Mario Kart always has superb race tracks.
 
Can't really get excited about more of the same... each game seems to go backwards in awesomeness from Super Mario Kart for the SNES. Especially the battlemode! Battle in the first one was so much fun... was "okay" in 64 (the block fort was kinda neat)... but Double Dash was just sad.

Know what would make me happy? The AI racers not blatantly cheating anymore! I keep wiping Luigi out over and over and over by poopin' my shells out the back when he's huggin' my butt but he always comes back for more! And when I get knocked back with him I see him going 1,000 miles an hour all the way back up to the front! ****er!

The whole weapon thing is actually pretty stupid, especially in multiplayer races... it's actually to your advantage to stay in second or third place so you get the good weapons (if you're in first you get jack shit) and then use them to win on the final lap.
 
I'll be happy if it's more MK DS, which was awesome, than Double Dash, which was shite. Regardless, I can't understand any gamer not wanting this. It's ****ing Mario Kart. Sit around with your mates playing Mario Kart. Mario Kart!
 
Can't say I'm excited at all. Never liked Mario or any of it's spin offs much so yeah.
 
I think that returning home to find my family slaughtered by ninjas would still not make me quite as angry as I get when I lose at Mario Kart. If the Wii version can just recreate that, I'm good.
 
It's my favorite version. My friends and I play it pretty much daily.
 
MK64 is the only one in which I love to an extent in which I cannot even reach.
 
Even on Mario Kart DS I can't stand any of the tracks from MK64. They're all so long and boring.

To be fair they chose the worst 64 tracks for the DS. That said, I see your point. But it's a helluva lot better than double dash.
