<div align="justify">I had never heard of Master Blasters before recieving their news email in my inbox a few minutes ago, and I'm willing to bet that most of you haven't either. If that is indeed the case, consider yourself pleasantly surprised. Master Blasters has released their public beta with gameplay vaguely reminiscent of the popular HL mod Ricochet but considerably more badass. From their moddb.com profile:

Using the fast-action rocket launcher enjoyment Id Software's Quake coupled with the game play style of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros., this mod certainly puts a twist to original Half-life 2 Deathmatch. The object of the game is to knock all your opponents in the round off the platforms without being knocked off yourself! Players start each round out with a limited number of lives and are able to pick up variety of weapons and pick ups throughout the game. Whatever team or player survives the longest receives a point, the round is restarted, and the mayhem starts again.

so your abit slow updating your site

He said that he got the e-mail from them several minutes ago, so he wasn't slow at all.
And how is the mod? Worth trying?

But they only emailed him a few minutes ago!

It's not his job to scour Modddb for the newest mods, you know.

Doesn't look pretty, better be fun.

My apologies; but I don't have time to sort through the vast amounts of garbage on moddb every day to check for real content. I recieved an email at 7:18 PM and was finished posting this at 7:50... I think that's pretty respectable.

That's why we prefer if people email [email protected] if they want something posted, because otherwise we might miss it.

Moddb has max 2-3 newspost about hl2 mods every day and most of those show quality work. Maybe you should visit it more instead of telling lies about it.

I demand your free content be better!

I look through what I can, and you can extend the moddb reference to the whole of the Half-Life 2 news and modding sphere. That is, I have a list of about 20 odd sites that I try to keep up with so that I can post news, not to mention trying to keep tabs on individual mod's sites so that I can get the info first. Believe me, there is a lot of vaporware or just low-quality shit out there. I may be wrong about moddb, but that's hardly an issue given the truth of the matter... you're practically calling me out on semantics, particularly now that I've clarified. Forgive me for missing this one for a couple of days. I'm not even a newsposter, I just do it on the side occasionally to try and keep up with some of the bits that the real newsposters miss - all that's in my job description is forum moderation. I'm in school, I have a job, I have a life, I do this for free.

Feel free to criticize, but I don't see you contributing shit. I might feel a bit more benevolent if your comments were remotely constructive or helpful, but they aren't in the slightest. Also, if you feel that there is news worth posting, PM me or pop an email to [email protected] and I'll see what I can do. Until you spend three years contributing thousands of hours of time to a website, the majority of them posting news, writing content, or keeping the forums in good shape so that people LIKE YOU can post here without being treated unfairly or inundated with spam, shut the hell up unless you have something constructive to say.

If you feel our newsposting is not up to par, which is a point that I am inclined to agree with you on, you have three courses of action open to you. The first is to take the site off your bookmarks and stop reading here because we are obviously not satisfactory enough for you to waste time reading or posting. The second option, the one I'm more inclined to find helpful, is to try and help us get things back in shape - PM or email if there's pertinent news we've missed, or even if we just haven't had time to post it yet - duplicate information never hurt anyone, and it's definitely a huge help. The last option is to deal with it and shut the hell up if you don't want to do either of the other two.

A mild disclaimer for the future: I'm sick and irritable right now, so I'm being slightly more hardcore than usual and taking less shit to boot, so take that into account if you please.

I don't care that the news on hl2.net is a little slower than most sites and I don't care about the fact that hl2.net doesn't post as many mod news as most other site. I never said anything about that!
You seem to miss the point of my post, read my post again!

What I care about is what you said about moddb, it's wrong what you said and I feel like I had to point this out. As 'super' moderator of HL2.net I don't think it’s smart to tell lies about other websites, even if you didn’t really intended to do that. Telling you this is my 'contribution' to you and I don't see how it can be more constructive by saying that you are wrong about it.

Even the fact that you have this 'super moderator' under your nickname, doesn’t give you the right to say that I have to shut up, I didn’t do anything against the rules, I only point out that you are wrong. If you want to flame me because I don’t agree with you, go ahead; it only makes you look bad as a moderator.

I guess you don't visit moddb a lot, otherwise you wouldn't have this vision about it.

How is it wrong? There's vast amounts of garbage of Moddb and a few gems. It's a given. Like there's vast amounts of shit all over the internet and a few gems.

Of course moddb has a lot of crap mods listed, but so does the mod section on this forum. Who are we do judge what mod is crap and what mod isn’t anyway?!
Like I said in my first post, the news on moddb shows quality work most of the time, saying that it’s too much work to search for the good stuff on moddb is just sad because you just have to look in the news.

Anyway, I said that already.

...but it's not his job to go there and look. Post to the email if you want coverage from Hl2.net.

Again, I never said he should, I'm only talking about what he said about moddb!

I don't need coverage from HL2.net btw

The miscommunication has been cleared up, and I would tell you to shut up regardless of if my name is in italics or not. Also, on the last ten HL2 newsposts on Moddb, most aren't worth posting here for one reason another - maybe the mod is too early in development to bother covering yet, maybe the media is crappy, maybe it's a minor update, whatever. Moddb is mostly crap mods (in direct relationship to the number of crap mods to good mods on the internet), and while the news might be higher in the proportion than the rest of the site, there's still a lot of stuff posted that doesn't need to be frontpaged here.

Also, like I said, I shouldn't have referenced moddb but rather the entire HL2 scene as it's only one of the sites I monitor.
