Mastodon Album Leaked

Blood Mountain just leaked (just in time for my holiday tommorow \o/). They just keep getting better.

This is one paranoid, schizo album. It's definately a much larger departure than Leviathan was from Remission, a lot faster, more varied and technical but without sounding like pointless wankery and still as crushing as ever. Apparently the album's about getting lost in mountainous woods, and that's exactly what it feels like. Running in a panic-inducing frenzy through the woods in the middle of the night with god knows what hunting you down. I miss the dirty production values, but it probably wouldn't have worked this time.

Anyway, needed to rant about how awesome the album is before heading to bed.

Nice news! Mastodon has been on my list for about a year now as one of the craziest and heaviest bands out there, esp the drumming--the guy never stops flying around the kit! Leviathan was an incredible album and I can't wait to hear this one!

Yeah, this album is fantastic. Got my freind to download it (or torrent it... whatever) yesterday for me. Damn good stuff. I'll get him to make me a copy of it, but I know for sure I'm buying it come release day.

I just bought the "limited edition" (there were about seven of them at the store) of Leviathan. Great stuff, although I'm not an absolutely huge fan of the vocals just yet.

Yeah, they're definitely cleaner than on Remission, but the music on both is just amazing. Try Remission too, it will surely blow you away as well! :thumbs:
