Max 7 Crashing

My version of max, which has worked for months, has today started crashing to desktop after the initial loading screen. I have tried re-installing but it still doesn't work...any ideas why this might be?

memory conflicts ? ..do a clean boot http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310353
keep in mind all the settings u have put on or off for later .
see if that helps if it doesnt try running a memtest .

i'm a veteran many times over of this problem -_- i just uninstall, run Registry Repair, then reinstall. sometimes that works, if not then i just uninstall it again, and install do a different folder/directory ie, instead of C:/Program Files/3D Studio Max, i put C:/Program Files/3ds max. unbelievably annoying

Yeah that's what i did in the end, uninstalled it all and then deleted everything from registry about max and re-installed, got it working a couple of days ago, but thanks anyway for the help. Didn't realise max came with so many little bugs :\

it doesnt. its just the reallly cheap one that has the bugs
