Max files to HL2 files? I've read some threads but help please....

Right,

before you say use search, I have. I'm still confused.

I just want to put a model from max into hammer.

Could someone as simply as possible in plain english please do me a step by step mini guide?

Well if you have a more specific question we could help but I'm not gonna write a complete Tut on what to do step by step. I've answered it on other threads with some0ne.

Download cannonfodder max importer/exporter.
Make your model in Max.
Export to .smd.
Make your texture.
Compile your texture to vtf/vmt.
Create a working .qc file.
Use some0ne model toolkit to compile the .smd.

There you go.

I've been looking at a guide, this one...

I've got to....

8) Select all of the verts and click assign to link. Then click the green plus symbol, set "Blending between links" to "No Blending", and click on your bottom bone at 0,0,0. All the verts should turn green.

This isn't working for me at all (this is 3d studio max by the way).

I click assign to link etc and the bottom bone and nothing happens at all!

I've been stuck trying to import a friggin cup into hammer all day, 1 damn cup grrrrrrrrrrrr :(

Help please anyone, thanks in advance.
