Max Payne Final Trailer

Hmm, at least they stopped showing the Valkyries as if they were real. Now that we saw more of Mona I was slightly disappointed, but we'll see.

BTW was that Sucre from Prison Break I saw there? (w/e his real name is).

But they seriously need to get more variety on the Valkyrie screams :|

What the hell's up with the CGI Valkyries flying around though?
 
It looks good, but I have an inkling of a feeling that this movie will be developed more for "Art's," sake and not directed to actually have a meaning and be a good movie at the same time.
 
Cant wait, but i am disappointed its pg-13.
 
I don't really see why it'd be anything other than PG-13.
There wasn't a whole lot of swearing in the game iirc and most of the violence in it is very much PG-13.
 
This new trailer and the certainty of a PG-13 rating doesn't make this game-to-movie conversion any more promising.

Ludacris as Jim Bravura. laff!

He doesn't have a real name. Everytime I see him everywhere, I forget whatever name he is protraying in the movie he is in..I'll just be like "SSUUCCRREE!!'
 
Looks a bit too actionified. I hope they dont skip out on all the psychological bits, getting into his head and such like in the graphic novels in the game.
 
What I don't get: where's the Film Noir? It doesn't have the game's atmosphere.
 
VERY actionified. Definitely missing the Noir. Mark Wahlberg sucks. And what the **** is with the Valkyries?

I think it looks pretty good for what it is. Mila is a fine actress, but I think she is too young to play Mona. Ludacris as Bravura, while a bit confusing, shouldn't be that bad because I think he's a pretty good actor.(Not saying I'm happy with him playing Bravura, it's still a huge departure from the game.) Like others have said, I don't see as much Film Noir influences in the trailer as I expected, but after all, it is just a trailer. The redundant Valkyrie scream was annoying. I think the special effects and action set pieces look pretty exciting. I liked the delivery of "The Devil is building his army....." better in the previous trailer. I really hope the music from the game is in the film. It really underscored the grim sadness of the storyline.

But hey, it's hollywood, so they'll probably **** it up, and I may boycott it anyway due to FOX being litigious dicks and threatening to sue the producers of the Payne and Redemption independent film.
 
I dont remember any mythical creatures ever even being mentioned in the game outside of a thoughtful metaphor.
 
I knew it was marilyn manson, I just didn't know exactly what, because... I don't give a **** about marilyn manson.

Not going to see this.
 
I really hope that the Valkyries are some sort of hilucination when they are on Valkyr (or maybe something that Lupino enabled in his cathedral). If they are some separate monster to fight the movie will be gay. Not gay in the homosexual way. gay in the "man that's gay" kind of way.

Things I saw that I liked:1) A lot of the same characters wil be there: Max, Mona, BB, Bravura, Horne, Michelle, and so on. Whether they've changed them too much or not we'll see.
2) Aesir Corp wil be involved in some way.

Thing I don't like: 1) Mila is NOT a femme fatale 2) seems the Noir style may have been removed 3) From what I've heard there is no Vlad or Vinny. I was 100% Jay Mohr was going to be Vinny. 4) Stupid Valkries

If I were writing it I would made sure to include: V, abandoned subway, exact same ending and beginning sequences, very similar basic plot, the inner circle, Vlad, Vinny, Alex, Punchenelo, Lupino and the Cathedral idea

I would exclude: Baseball batboy, Finito brothers, Boris Dime section, Mona's twin, most of Max Payne 2 with the exception of having a hard-on for Mona.
 
Hmmm.

I just found out Valkyr WILL be involved. Apparently Lupino goes insane from it. Alex is involved as well. It also sounds like they will develop BB alot more than they did in the game, which is a good thing. He seemed kinda underused to me in the game.
 
Am I the only one who thinks that despite not looking like max payne edward norton would be kick ass for this role?
 
Edward could probably play any role.

He's awesome in any role he does but especially as the guy who spends most of the movie pretending to be someone other than who he really is deep down inside.
 
Anybody else think Christian Bale would have been a good Max?

Max Payne taking down drugs and blowing people 20 feet across! Bloody rooms and walls, dreams with blood trails. I highly doubt you'll see any of that. Still seeing it tho, it still looks good.
