Max Payne movie trailer

Urm, I dont really know what to make of that trailer, all I know is that demons and shit were not present in the game, and they didnt even use the official Max Payne theme song :(

I Am not sure what to think of it either. Too early to tell, i guess. I Am, however, somewhat intrigued.

Yeah, that looks a lot less phoned-in than I was expecting. At least they're taking chances.

He nailed the voice and iv seen pictures where he nails the facial expressions. I was worried about how it would all come together. But that does look good. Dont know what to make of the last 3 secs tho.

Still not sure about Mark Wahlberg (although I do like him), but it's looking pretty good. The demon's probably a dream sequence... I hope.

it looks... ok

same thoughts about the demons.

mila kunis as mona seems good from what i can see

If the bit with the flying demon-thing is from one of Max's dream sequences, this has every chance of being good. If not, well sod it.

I got to get the games and see what the fuss is about. Is there a PC version? i don't have a console.

They should have got Sam Lake to write the damn script.

I think the "winged demons" are probably hallucinations or something related to the drug "Valkyr" which plays a major part in the plot of Max Payne 1 since the name Valkyr is taken from the word "valkyrie" which, as we all know, are "any of the maidens of Odin who choose the heroes to be slain in battle and conduct them to Valhalla" (according to Merriam-Webster).
Of course, valkyries are usually portrayed in media as winged humanoids, so all this may explain why there are flying creatures in the trailer, at least this is my opinion. And yes, I am a huge Max Payne fan, hope this turns out great.

The demon things worry me. They were in a brief part of Max Payne, but didn't play a major role.

Bullet time moves look REALLY stupid in live action. It was cool in the first Matrix, but now whenever I see people flying around and shooting guns it makes me want to puke.

I remember waiting for the first MP game for years... I collected loads of mag clippings of it and watched the ancient trailer a million times.

It's hardly the hardest game to bring to the big screen, so hopefully it won't suck.

The rest of the trailer didn't really seem to acknowledge/hint at the demons apart from that shot at the end, so I'm gonna plant on my hopes on they being Max's drug-induced dream when he's high on Valkyr.

The demons better be hallucinations. They better ****ing be.

Mark Wahlberg as Payne sounds fine. I liked how a few shots looked slightly comic-like (especially the snow). Shame that the main theme wasn't used.

And for a second there I thought Mona was being played by Cameron from House.

Hopefully when the full trailer comes out we'll hear the original song. Hopefully maybe please.

And yeah echoing what everyone else says about the demon thing most likely being a hallucination.

I think that this will turn out okay.

Edit (With the exception Ludacris as Bravura WTF?!?)

I was never HUGE into the whole Max Payne games, but I wasn't aware of demons and shit being present in the games D:

I'm going to be pissed off if the demons are real and not a dream. Other than that, it looks... dare I say... rather good.

Yeah, especially since Max Payne is a light parody of Film Noir, it should translate very well to the silver screen.

It looks better than any other video game movie I've seen.

I remember seeing fire-breathing horses on the Batman Begins trailer and thinking "WTF" too, but they managed to work it in well. Perhaps the same thing will hold true for this movie. Since so much of MP1 was based around that "V" drug, perhaps it's a hallucination or part of Max's crazy dreams.

Either way...needs more Vlad: "Max...dearest of all my friends"

Uh hello..

The druggies were always yapping about the "flesh of fallen angels"

Get it?

Were they? See I used to just blow their heads off when I came across them.

O.o

Not sure what to make of it. PG-13 and flying demons.

God she's gorgeous
And I'm sure those demons just represent his inner demons, he's a tormented fella

I'll probably see this, but I'm really pissed that FOX made the makers of Payne and Redemption throw away all their hard work or be sued.

fascists.

Movie website:

The plot sypnosis has me a bit worried that this won't be grounded in reality. Also, the trailer from the site seems to contain som new/altered footage, different to the first post in the thread (plus you can see it in HD).

They did that? Lame. I was so looking forward to it.

Yep. It's on the Payne and Redemption site. They're going to start all over and shoot a whole movie again, only this time with a new story and new characters. The original will likely not be released.

sucks.

I can still quote some of the druggie rambles.

"It's coming... it's coming.... fleshhhh... the flesh of the angels.... it's coming.... no no...."

Hell you don't even need to beat the game to understand Max's character. You get a good sense of it within 30 mins.

I read somewhere that he watched his friend play it.

But still, even Mila played it.
