I just got my computer up and running and decided to run some tests, and what resulted was low scores on sandra, not to mention i had the lowest score out of the a11 people who had setups similar to mine in 3dmark06. I'm thinking that this all may be due to my processor because of the obvious results in sandra. So whats up, do my fsb speeds look normal, voltage, does something look blatantly wrong? Because if you guys also think i should get a replacement then i probably will end up doing so, but I just want to be sure that there is actually something wrong with it so i don't send in the wrong part.
Here's my Specs: Intel Core2Duo E6700, EVGA 680i, 700w m12seasonic, x1950xt, 2gb corsair, And i think that's all you need to know.

When i installed my cpu i did wiggle it around a little because in my previous build, skt939, the pins actually go into holes, but after reading the instructions i saw that it said "don't slide the cpu in the socket", oops... But i really don't think that, that alone could have such a huge hit on performance...Please help.

seriously its fast fast fast!!! why do scores matter that much. i cant even tell what your showing in those pictures.

Well basically in every test it says that my card is running slower than a e6600, and in 3dmark06 I'm getting like 600 points less than everyone with the same setup as me, except for 512mb on vid. card, but i don't think that alone would give them 600points. It's just sort of annoying me since i didn't pay an extra 200 bucks for nothing, I don't want to have to overclock my card to reach stock performance...But before i get a replacement i wanted to double check that it is indeed my processor and not my mobo settings or something dumb like that. Thats all. All help is greatly appreciated.
Are the pics. really illegible?

well they are in jpeg so it loses some quality. you did check your programs running in the background correct?

I'm pretty sure i have nothing running in the background, although there were about 46 processes running, but thats normal i suspect. Xp home does support the core2duos correct?
I also ran a second test and maybe i can give you guys the url so you all can maybe tell whats up.

46 processes is a bit high. I have 23 running at startup.

46 is way too many.

Also, check your BIOS settings, make sure your CPU is actually clocked to its proper speed (an e6700 should be around 2.67GHz).

[edit] Nevermind, just get rid of the processes :P

Well i got the problem figured out, the multiplier was set at 8x instead of 10x for some reason, with the new Bios flash it got the multiplier fixed by default and now my benches are much more to specs. Also i don't know why i have so many processes running, Maybe i just have a crappy copy of xp since I'm using the one that came with my dell like 5 yrs ago, (XP Home).

Oh, and if you guys don't mind maybe you can locate some unneeded processes. Here's a Screen:rolling: :http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w198/SnakeofJake/tskmnger.jpg

Yeah, that's a lot of tasks running. Go through all of the tasks in the taskbar and get rid of the 'start with windows' options they offer - then fire up msconfig (start menu>run>msconfig) and as a general guide, unclick anything with a brand name that isn't ATI, Nvidia, or your mouse/audio drivers etc. There are a couple of tutorials easily found through google that will help you decide what to dump.

PROCESSES - BASICS
You can see what processes are running on your pc by opening the task manager.(Ctrl-Alt-Delete)
In relation to the Services and StartUp programs the CORE system processes(+ internet access) that need to be running for Windows to function are:
csrss.exe
ctfmon.exe (do not disable if u need different languages-quoted from Slimy)
explorer.exe
lsass.exe
services.exe
smss.exe
svchost.exe (x4)
spoolsv.exe (printer...)
System
System Idle Process
Winlogon.exe
(+your firewall and antivirus programs...)
if any of the above .exes are named slightly different or are located outside of the system32 folder there is a big likelihood they are viruses.
( I have looked at 3 different machines running different services- and these are to my knowledge The Essential Core) There is an interesting little application called Procexp from www.sysinternals.com which shows which processes are effecting what on your system.

Alright I'll try to work on getting rid of some of the unneeded processes, Thanks for all the help.
