Ok, I just got this book on how to create a game character with maya. I have played around with the program a lot before, but I never had any real direction to go in, and had literally no instruction on it.

But thats not the problem, the problem is that when I changed the settings to work in meters, stuff will start to dissapear from view once you zoom out a certain distance. Its like viewing distance in a game, once you get a certain distance away from something, it will disapear along with everything on the same distance with it.

Its really annoying, because if I zoom out aprox 11 meters, I cant see most of the grid, and my imageplane that is 1.7 meters tall dissapears. And sometimes things will just dissapear in wierd places. And also, only the isometric viewport shows anything.

Ill attach some images so you can see what I am talking about.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/turkeyslapper/Untitled-3.jpg ---This happens sometimes, other times the imageplane is cut off at a diagonal across the whole thing
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/turkeyslapper/Untitled-4.jpg ---Notice that the grid is cut off still, behind the image

I think it may be because I only have a Radeon 9600pro and a Athlon 2500+, or maybe I have to change a setting that will show things further away. I cant find any such setting though.
