Maya question

Hey I've been modelling with maya and trying to export a reference of the model in obj format,, only problem is that when I export a reference it says it cant save and it doesnt show up in my data file.

does anyone have any ideas,,

You would happen to be using PLE. Becuase you cant export or save or anything if your using it.
