/me polishes purple heart

No, I jumped in the cobra, killed 5 people, crashed into the water, respawned, and grenaded myself until i had 21 deaths.
 
My theory is that you get it if you have a really bad death streak. 20 consecutive deaths sounds about right to me, my biggest death streak has only been 7 so far.
 
Yeah its almost impossible to actually die more than like 10 times in a game, so legitimately getting 21 is really hard.
 
That makes sense, my friend had 21 deaths and about 5 kills when he got it.
 
It's 5 kills and 20 deaths.

I'm only gonna get this one by accident.

right but you get it on the 21st death.
 
Oh damn, now that I know how to get this, I want to, but I don't know if I want to grenade myself over and over like that. It seems like a big waste of time to me. Time that could be spent having FUN.
 
It is a huge waste of time- that's one award i dont think i want, haha.
 
I think if you go over 5 kills it doesn't work. I got 8 kills, then I tried grenade launching myself up to 21 deaths, but I got no medal.

I hear you need to keep at least a 1:4 K/D ratio. I don't plan on trying to get this one until it's the LAST medal I need :P

This is an easy fix, just get people to run you over via a vehicle ;) make sure you don't punish them either!
 
Just did it again, stopped at 5 kills, and then I did the same thing, grenade launched myself up to 20 deaths, and then it told me I received the Purple Heart. I did this about 2 minutes ago, and it hasn't updated yet. Let's hope it registered.

You still get points deducted even if you forgive.
 
Why use grenades to kill yourself when fall damage doesn't make you go into negative points?

Takes too long, I was getting really bored stealing the cobra/blackhawk and jumping out. I dont care about points, or deaths attached to my support class.

I dont know. Might. I wouldnt want to try though.
 
It's more prestigious if you DON'T get this medal.

"Yeah, and when you log back in it'll give you one of those new rank pop-ups saying, 'Congratulations! You SUCK!'"
 
Haha. I can just see a Marine in WWII pulling out his ACP and blasting a hole in his foot. He screams in agony. Medic runs over as he's clutching his foot in pain, and the gunny asks "WHAT IN GODS NAME WERE YOU THINKING PRIVATE!" he replies "I WANTED A PURPLE HEART SIR!".

On a side note, watch Band of Brothers. Greate series.

Yeah too bad you can only get that purple heart from an enemy, not being bayonetted in your foxhole :)

Yeah i got that award after being spawn-camped. Its seriously killing the game for me
 
I havent been able to actually try to get the purple heart but i think i have a strategy.

I get the 5 kills that i need with a knife (hoping that i can get kills without getting killed) and then relentlessly trying to die (but only after getting the kills) :P
