Anyone have the new game informer?

"Medal of Honor Airborne graces the cover of the new Game Informer. The next game in the long-running franchise is scheduled for a Fall 2006 release on the PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC. The game runs on the next-generation version of RenderWare. Incuded in the magazine are screenshots that are a mix of "target video" and real-time PS3 hardware"

with MoH franchise seriously hurting these days trhis could either turn out really great or could be the final nail in the franchises coffin

yea i just rented it...after the first day i took it back and vowed to never play a FPS on a console ever again

I played Medal of Honor Allied Assault and the expansion Spearhead
suffice it to say after all the hype i was not impressed - it was boring and not very good
halflife spoiled it for me :(

pacific assualt was a pc exclusive ..I think you're thinking MoH rising sun ..if so that was even worse than MoH: PA ..in fact it's probably the worst of the francise by a long shot

theres so many of them i cant even remember which one that i played... :( and i think i was rising sun

heh I've played them all even the first 2 that were released on the ps1

i dont think that i have played them all just the first few. i just think that EA is sqeezing the living life out of MoH, and going for quanity instead of quality when the release these shitty games...

I've always gotten bored of the medal of honour games. Was ok-ish on the PS1... never brought any of the current-gen ones... doubt I'll buy any of the next-gen ones either. :|

me too, they were great, i have allied assault too aswell as all the expansions for that game on pc which were ok, pacific assault was pretty damn good imo, rising sun i didnt buy after i read the reviews, got frontline though back in the day..

The only Medal of Honor I really liked was MoH: Frontline for PS2.

I don't know about this, we'll see though.

Pacific Assualt wasn't too bad, but then again, i still haven't brought myself to finish it. It's like your playing the same mission over and over and over.

Rising sun was god awful. Pure suckage.
I'll agree that the single player campaign was horrible but the online multiplayer was really some of the most fun i've ever had.

I don't know .. are you guys on crack?

The medal of honor series, except for a few flaws in most cases, ****ing rules.

I didn't get the newest MoH yet becuase my PC can't run it well enough, but Allied Assualt and its expansions are still awesome in my opinion. and with dozens of great mods available... this series has some of the strongest mod support if not the highest...

after allied assault i bought Pacific assualt, and the only thing that tarnished the singleplayer campaign was the AI, which is often a problem area for games. It was still alot of fun and highly playable.

Im totally looking forward to playing the latest medal of honor games -- that is -- when i get a PC that can.

Its basically a doom formula type game but in a WWII setting. How is that not ****ing cool?

--in fact, they used an id software game engine for allied assault.

While medal of honor games commonly have glaring flaws, i can't really explain why they are about 5 times more fun for me than game of the year games like call of duty and call of duty 2

MoH on PC = amazingly paced, fun as hell, interesting and cool.
MoH on PS2 = well paced, fun as hell but samey and the linear nature of the levels is so obvious that you end up walking along a tunnel that looks like it's in the middle of the field as opposed to the PC version's 'big field but you can only get in and out in set ways'. At least made it seem credible.

Thats what I was gonna say! MOHAA on the PC was, and still is, fantastic!

I'm currently replaying through the SP campaign, and regularly play online. Also, whenever my friends come round for a LAN, it's one of the most played games along with Q3, HL1 & 2.

Although I agree, unfortunately, everything after MOHAA EA have released has purely been to cash in :hmph:

I do hope it's the latter. Christ, when will people learn!? World. War. Two. Games. Are. Crap.

They represent weverything that';s bad about the gaming industry.

How many more can they make.... They best one was for the PS2... I think it was called frontline or somthing like that. But I will give this one a chance and play it

2 to 4 player co-op for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, players can even join up while you are playing. Say if you are pinned down in a house, a friend of yours sees you playing and logs on. Then parachute from a plane right down on the house saving your ass.
The co-op is the primary focus for EA, so you can bet it will play a big role in the game.

More open-ended gameplay so you can take multiple ways of completing a mission.

I think it looks great, the facial expressions are looking very nice. Though I would really like to see it in motion.
I have hopes on this game though, especially after hearing about the co-op.

Pacific assault was pretty good but the last medal of honor I have played was european assault and apart from the first campaign, intro and menu music the rest of it is shit. The single campaign was less than 5 hours long, You were fighting as an american in Raid on St Nazire and in russia and they added lame features to the game such mini bosses and bullet time.

You can listen to european assault's music here:

I love Allied Assault, multiplayer is tight as hell.. been playing it for about 3-4 years or so.

This Airborne looks sick as hell as well, man the graphics look pretty insane.

Is this coming out for PC?

Not really sure but I guess so. It's coming for PS3, X360 and the current consoles AFAIK.

Playing Rising Sun on the gamecube hurt me both physically and mentally. It was just... aaargh. You know that 'Big Rigs' game with the trucks or something that's meant to be one of the worst games ever? It was like that.

There's an article about this out in some mag and the scans got posted online. All I can say is, DAMN! If this looks as good as they say, well, I'll certainly be impressed by the graphics. Supposedly you can control your parachute each time you drop, allowing you to start wherever you want to. Supposedly this one is more freeform and the AI is well-suited to adapt to different approaches and manuevers. I know the policy on scans, so I woun;t post the links, but I'm sure you guys can find them. They're well worth looking at. And thankfully, this one starts with Operation Husky... ahhh, beautiful Italy.

wow that was extremely easy to find ..those have to photoshopped screens ..I mean look how fuzzy and grainy some of the shots looked. If they're not it really does look awesome

I absolutely love allied assault, played it through 5+ times one of my all time favourite games. Everything after i didn't really like at all. Call of duty 1 and 2 i absolutely loathed which is strange.

I even borrowed european assault off a friend to play on ps2, ouch. Though the controls weren't the worst part it was the low res of my tv and the low res of the ps2 which made for a very blurry hard to see what's going on affair. Compare it to the crystal sharp clarity of a PC game, it can't compare.

As for this airborne, as with anything funded by EA i have massive doubts. I'm hoping for a game version of band of brothers. Yes they should dare to have a lengthy training part of the game where you get to make COMRADES. You get to train with all the weapons and have to get your jump wings. Similar to americas army but not so complicated. WHY GO TO ALL THIS TROUBLE YOU SAY? We've been playing ww2 games that go straight into the action too quickly for too long. It's dumb gaming and i'm sick of it. I want pacing and some characters and i want a greater sense of acheivement (training) and maybe even some story to tell.

But whatever happens don't let the script writers from brothers in arms write the dialogue, BIA dialogue was terrible.

GUYS
"Co-op is the primary focus for us right now. There are other games like battlefield present other forms of multiplayer and do it really well. So instead, just in the spirit of choosing what we do, and doing it really well, our total production emphasis has been on getting coop to be as outstanding as possible"
well well well that could be very awesome

You can listen to european assault's music here:

Thankyou! The music, especially the menu music was fantastic.

What's with you and your hatred of the BIA games? They're good WWII shooters.

If it's as awesome + tactically interesting + freeform as claimed/as it has the potential to be then it will be very awesome + tactically interesting + freeform. :D

I just want that same feeling back that I got storming the beach in MOH:AA - that was definitely one of my greatest gaming moments ever, and it was also one of the most immersive

If they can bring that feeling back, then they will have succeeded

+ co-op ;)

while I really like co-op I'm more excited if it comes to pc instead of the console versions ..most co-op console games (xbox only cuz I dont have any thing else) co-op is often an afterthought (Splinter cell CT is an obvious exception), almost as if they slapped it together at the last minute ..many co-op games dont even allow you to save your progress ..like in rtcw xbox version, you had to the play the entire game start to finish in one sitting if you wanted to finish it. And why the hell do I have to play the entire sp game to unlock maps in co-op? ..that is hands down the dumbest decision ever ..more than a few games my friend and I just stopped playing cuz we couldnt advance and couldnt be bothered to go through the sp (recent example: rainbow 6 lockdown)
