It's been noted in Computer Power User magazine as a must-have media player, (not to mention the slew of positive reviews it has received). So I figured I give it a try-out, over iTunes.
In a nutshell:
So, you see, what it doesn't do works out just fine for me. I don't use the iTunes store and a light-weight resource is even better. On top of that, it's completely compatible with my iPod, another strong plus. So, if you have been a long-time MediaMonkey user let me know what you think. I'm still getting used to it and don't have any complaints thus far. A switch-over just may happen in the very near future.
In a nutshell:
CPU Magazine said:Although iTunes is the 900-pound gorilla of the media player market, perhaps you'll be better served by a lighter-weight monkey. MediaMonkey does almost everything that iTunes does except make music purchases from the iTunes store and annoy you by forcing you to work the way iTunes wants you to. MediaMonkey works with almost every portable player (including iPods and iTunes phones) and lets you organize songs, playlists, album art, and ID3 tags any way you like. It burns discs, too. A free version is also available with slightly fewer features.
