When I compile my map in hammer, it compiles fine (or appears to), I get my map, copy it and paste it to the cstrike/maps folder as I always do, but after adding some more brushes, doors, lights, and windows, now I can't load my map. Counterstrike just crashes saying the memory could not be read in certain addresses. Does anyone know what causes "The memory could not be read" errors? I'm not sure what I did wrong.. vvis.exe seems to take forever compiling now as well. :(

Thanks in advance,
Shmenge

Are you alt+tab'ing into CS after you've compiled? This has started to happen to me too. Now I just close CS then re-open it if I want to see my map.

No I'm not alt-tabbing, I close and run.

I fixed the other problem (turned out a texture problem with my windows) but now I have another one. Can anyone tell me what this means?:

LoadPortals: couldn't read c:\steam\steamapps\ShmengeTravel\sourcesdk\cstrike_sample_content\maps\testcontent.prt

I checked the directory and the prt isnt even there. I'm not sure what happened to it but now I can't render all the new work I did. :(

Thanks in advance,
Shmenge
