I'll be going to E3 this year and I want to take tons of pictures. I have a 3.2 MegaPixel Canon Powershot and I'm looking at a 1gig SD memory card. About how many pictures would I be able to take on the default resolution? Thanks.

Oh, here's the link to the memory card that I'm looking at:

Corsair 1GB SD Card

if you read in the manual it has the amout of pictures it can take for every resolution for a certain size of memory, then just multiply

Hmm, I just looked at one of the pics of the back of the product and it says for a 3MP camera, it'll hold 853 pictures. Is that right?!

I have a little 16mb one that came with the camera and I can only take like 8 pictures. But 853?! Just double checking.

me too, i have a 3.2mp camera and a 256meg stick, it tells me the max photo's it can hold. About 200. depends on the quality setting though.

I have a Canon SD110 (3.2MP) with a 128MB card and I can get 65+ pics on highest quality.
1GB is 8 times that size. 65x8=520, still a lot of pictures!

Yeah, Don't forget to enable jpeg compression on the camera ... 1600x1200 pics that are uncompressed are a couple of Mb each - where as with compression they can be around 600k each yet with no visible quality lost (means you can get probably 4 to 5 times as many photos onto the memory card).

Also, I wouldn't take the pictures at the highest resolution of the camera - 1024x768 is enough for anyone, unless you're taking picures of stuff that you know is worthwhile of a meatier resolution (xbox360/ps3/rev/etc)
