im going to be upgrading my RAM and have 2 questions. Is it better to buy 1 stick of 1GB RAM, or 2 512's? and why? And also is OCZ MEMORY a good brand?

Depends on your motherboard, does it support dual channel? IE NForce 2 chipset for Athlon XP? I always go with 2 any way, because if one craps out on me there's always another stick there for backup.

the motherboard will be whatever mother board is compatible with athlon 64 fx-53. does that support dual channel?!
