If anyone have this or have tried it, I have some questions for you.

1: How hard is it to control with the keyboard and mouse from 1 to 10?

2: Is it worht buying?

3: How good is it from the number 1 game?

4: What is the main story in it?

5: Is the cutscenes as good as in the number 1 game?

Controls: 5/10 (better if u have an analog controller) and the mouse is very poorly supported.
Worth Buying: Depends on the price
Compared to other PC Games: Not worth it
Main Story: Its Metal Gear Solid Sons of Liberty WITH loads of VR Mission, Alternative missions and 5 Snake Tales.
Cutscenes: Its an EXACT port of the xbox version, in fact the manual keeps refering to the xbox controls.

The game itself is very good, infact i own MGS: Sons of Liberty and Substance on PS2 now (with my Sons of Liberty signed by Hideo himself :D)

Don;t get me wrong i;m a huge MGS fan bt the PC port was just plan rubbish. I sold my pc copy on ebay just a few weeks ago. Try and get it for the PS2 or Xbox instead. Loads of people are having graphical problems aswell.

But I only own a PC and a PS1. (Were I play Metal Gear Solid 1 on, great game. =)
And I am not planing on buying a console, because that I just resisted buying a PS2 in about 5 months because I waited for GTA:San Andreas to come for PC.

Controls suck, but you'll get used to them, infact I have a gamepad, that I bought especially bought for this game, but I'm better with keyboard. But it takes ages to get used to.

Anyway jusdging form what I know what games you like, I would say, buy it, even if it costs the full price, but I saw it for 7,50 euro's, and it's definatly worth 7,50.

You can look at it this way, it is either this or GTA:San Andreas and Advent Rising.
BUT, from 1 to 10, I would give Metal Gear Solid 1: 9,5 points.

Well you scroll all the way down to the small table that says Where to get and u'll have a few choices. The torrent worked well but im sure theres a server u can download off aswell bt the dl rate awas crawp

Yeah but worth noting is the REVIEW on HOTU(Taken from GameSpy who are retards apparently :p) is a bit biased, a addon for the PSX was released that basically incorporated every aspect of the PC game.:p
Also, afaik the cd-rip misses the animated cutscenes for the game along with some music, not totally sure tho.

GTA san andreas will be better for the PC, atleast for most people, and I can understand that GTA is great, but I'm a die hard MGS lover(not a fan), I would give mgs1 330000 ou of 1/10. So I don't know if you're enough of a fan to forgive substance it's many faults.

MGS is worth it even with out the movies, it's still a top game. But for anyone who truly whishes to experience MGS the way it was meanth to be, and to undertsand why it has such a big following, the story and the music is absolutely neccessairly

Substance was GREAT on the PS2 but imo sucked on the PC and XB.

I'm trying to get game from the link, but the site isn't very specific on what to do when "You have been tricked." I can't get it to work.
I tried reading their FAQ.

True, not to mention, the animated cutscenes DO explain more if you take the time to watch ALL OF'Em, even after finishing the game, some don't and thus don't understand some things.
Like the fact that all the soldiers there were previously soldiers working under Big Boss during the previous "incidents", and then were injected with his genes to take part of the genome project.
There's alot more to learn by watching the animated vids.

Hmm, is that timeline official?
And how do they know the new MGS will be called "The Patriots Sons"?
Seems to me some of it might be pure speculation.
I always thought that MGS(1) played out at the end of the 20th century.:\
Oh well.
Btw, a funny fact, Solid Snake is partly Japanese, but I guess most of you knew that, seeing as Big Boss was half Japanese.

Oh and another thing, are the Snake Tales in Substance an official part of the storyline, it seems weird because I remember playing as Solid Snake and KILLING Fatman, which doesn't fit into the story?

There are some weird errors on that site.

Roy Campbell’s Niece, Meryl is the father of Matt Campbell, who dies soon after Meryl was born. (Snake Tales)

Nvm, finally understood what he meant :p

Actual Name: General Scott Dolph Jackson
Games Featured: MGS2
Known Facts: Born in the US, Scott is a general in the US Marine Corp, he is a great believer in reducing the chances of a nuclear war and wishes to leave the world in a better state than he found it. Scott was seduced by Vamp and this is how Helena was born. It is not known when and if Helena knows that he is her mother. Scott was killed in the same way as Sergei.

This can't be true can it? Or is Kojima really that messed up?
I mean comeon, a man x man producing a baby, now that's stepping over the line...
