as the trailers states, this will be the last of the "solid" trilogy.. now I have this itty bitty hunch that Metal Gear: Liquid will become a reality.

I Know the Metal Gear series is not over, they're is too much fan base and bank to pass by, and hideo loves working on that franchise.

Words cannot express how much I want this game. MGS is truly one of the best video game franchises out there IMO. I mean lets be honest: Snake vs. Gordon Freeman. You know who would win, you know.

Oh, and this has been posted before. :P

yeah cant wait to play..... i think it will be the best console game while HL2 will be best computer :)

but with San Andreas and Halo 2 coming... well i'l just look at it as a fun fest :monkee: but story wise, it most certainly is the best console game coming it seems, imho.

I say they make a boxed metal gear solid trilogy boxset for ps2.. how "w3wt" would that be. With a redone mgs. but nintendo might feel uncle tommed because snake eater was they're little piece of yum from hideo.

So...the story will be wrapped up neatly, and we'll finally have closure?

Thank. Gawd. The series was turning into Legacy Of Kain.

hahahaha hell no no Metal Gear game raps up nicely.. thats like whatching a soap with no cliff hanger..
 they still want to whore out future projects im sure it's just a title retirment

Well, I want SOME closure to the proceedings. The ending to MGS:2, while it was good closure for Raiden, still had quite a few unanswered questions that I want resolving...mostly involving the Patriots. :)

I seriously think hideo was smoking alot of dope when he thought of the "patriots" although it's a pretty sweet idea regaurdless.

Did you watch the ending credits FULLY? I mean all the way until the very, very, very end. It gets A LOT more confusing if you did that. The story of MGS is its strongest point, it's so complex.

Yes, which is why I want CLOSURE dammit! :p

I can't wait for MGS3. MGS2 is my favorite game and MGS overall is my favorite series. The only thing I dislike about the series is the supernatural elements in what is otherwise a semi-realistic setting, but I've gotten past that (good thing I did because MGS3 looks to take it even further).

For me MGS3 is definitely on top, but it's a very close tie between HL2 and GTA:SA for my second favorite. I'm thinking HL2 because even though GTA:SA improves a lot, it will be fundamentaly very similar to GTA3/VC (which is good of course, just not original enough to push it over HL2).

This one better not end i a cliffhanger

And it better explain the patriots or i'll be pissed

Ok, the things just from the trailer that I know will be in the game (I figure that since these things are shown in the trailer that I need not spoiler them)

Snake is Big Boss, since he will obviously live, from the part in the trailer where he is at a cemetary saluting someone, with an eyepatch and as we MGS fans know, Big Boss had lost an eye.

You will fight a Metal Gear in classic MGS fashion (after you kill the boss, he comes back to get you with the Metal Gear)

They showed most of the bosses it seems

Did anyone catch the Johnny Sakasi refference in the cell part? (for all you hardcore MGS fans)

A Raiden look alike at the end of the trailer, nice touch : D

They changed Ocelot's guns from 2 Makarov's to dual Colt SAA's

I think the monkey capture will be a PS2 exclusive extra like the skateboarding mode in MGS2

And what is this about MGS: Liquid that the original poster mentioned? I don't see how they could do a story about Liquid Snake, he was cloned, went to England and joined the SAS, became a terrorist. Not much to do for a game.

The boss (the one chick) and one of the Bosses named "The Sadness" are Ocelot's parents

 Half Life 2 + MGS 3 vs. Halo 2 + GTA: San Adreas.

msg one was the best, i didnt like the second one b/c i could not figure ou how to get stealth mode (dumb me) and i did not get to play with solid snake too often, instead i got to play with raven which i did not like. I am looking foward to snake eater, hope it will be great

Looks very good. Anyone know when its out?

MGS2 was really confusing at the end. I was like 'Wtf.... :|'

Actually, it would seem you meet Ocelot at least twice. This time he seems to have taken Snake up on his recommendation of a revolver.

I doubt that. The Solid in MGS has nothing to do with the Snakes. It's there because of the fact that the playing field is now a solid object, or 3D. Or so Kojima says :)

Looks alright, not really my type of game tbh. I liked the first one, but the second one was a little crap. This one seems alright but then again so did the second.

Ah better ;)

GTA:SA is a PS2 game :P Halo2 Vs. The world.

MGS3 > life :p.

Nah but seriously so many nice games coming out and I cant afford them all :O save me! I never played the original MGS (only MGS2) perhaps I should purchase it no! not another game on the list :D

MGS is amazing but i'm not sure you'd enjoy it as much now it's ancient and all. If you don't mind playing with bad graphics (PS2's bump PS1 games a little bit though) then it's definately worth buying.
