Metal Songs that make you go crazy

Slayer - I won't listen to them when I'm behind the wheel. Born of Fire or Spirit in Black (namely the second half) are the moon to my werewolf.

Only a few of these seem like bleeding/smash your face metal songs.

I'm talking about a beat that is so heavy it makes you want to joyfully hit yourself over the head with a hammer.

Get to the Gone by Static-X gets me moving in no time.

omfg I never thought I'd hear about Pig Destroyer on these forums. <3

Pig Destroyer are great, would love to see them live.

Here's some:

Kryptos - The Ark Of Gemini (the whole album)

Metallica
- The Four Horsemen

Lamb of God
- Blacken The Cursed Sun
- Walk With Me In Hell

Blood Tsunami
- Infernal Final Carnage

Needs more Annihilator and Fear Factory.

Annihilator - The Sound of Horror

Annihilator - King of the Kill

Unfortunately, can't find any Fear Factory songs that aren't poorly recorded live performances.
**** you youtube.

Oh wait...
Fear Factory - Digimortal
Try to ignore the horrible drummer.

And there's...
Fear Factory - Spinal Compression
and
Fear Factory - Edgecrusher

It's really hard to drive or sit still when any of those start playing.

Youtube doesn't have the songs I really want to post, but this just about qualifies:

Origin - Portalhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzn_pM6FYMwGreat, pounding rhythm that works great with the vocal phrasing.

1:55-2:20
"An entrance to a world that man has never met
Garnished in utter peace, endless shapes of beauty
Infinite suffering ending as I proceed
Fleeing through the portal into the tranquil scenes
Behind me lies the world, dismal and unrestrained
Encloaked despondency left behind forever
My senses disappear, all the pain and fear
Searing benevolence, perpetual, my hopes"

...followed by an epic breakout with sweep-picked solo (and a bleak wrap up for the lyrics). Great little song, can't help but nod.

Every metal song makes me want to do that out of rage over the existence of metal music.

I'm doing it now out of rage over your existence.

You've mistaken everyone in this thread for anyone who gives a shit about your subjective noise.

You've mistaken me for someone who requires people to care about my subjective noise.

You may have heard 1000 radio or pop songs, yet like only a few of these songs... It's the same thing with metal!

But I also havent hated every radio or pop song I have heard.

But I also havent hated every radio or pop song I have heard.

Very likely you haven't heard every metal song in the world to dismiss the entire genre as sucking either. Bet there's a bunch of stuff under the moniker of metal that you might like.

I hope some day you're proven right.

EDIT: Actually, there was that one song by a band called Genitorturers or something in VTM: Bloodlines that was decent.

EDIT2: This one

Though I may like it because I associate it with the game, and I loved the game.

Hydra Head already are/have/will do/continue to do so.

There are a hand full of metal songs I enjoy, and even fewer metal groups.

I find Metal to be in the top 3 most repetitive well known genres.

I guess i posted what I wanted to hear. it said Metal songs, not Heavy Metal songs but everyone is right, they really don't make me go crazy. nothing does. if someone screams so damn loud into the mic I usually can't understand what they're saying.

BUT DOESNT THAT GET YOU PUMPED? FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK IM SO PUMPED YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Metal in a nutshell.

Metal in a nutshell.

Shows how little you know about metal.

Weird, I find metal to be so diverse that it's almost useless as a genre classification. When you have an umbrella term that lumps together Black Sabbath with Anaal Nathrakh, Metallica with Emperor, Lacuna Coil with Origin, Sonata Arctica with Pig Destroyer - all bands that people could be referring to with the term 'metal' (and those are all just relatively mainstream examples; the more obscure you go, the more musically eccentric and distinct from eachother become the sub-genres) - then I can't see how it can be called repetitive, or even called a 'genre' in any meaningful sense of the word.

But then I just listen to the damn stuff, what do I know.

No, I agree. Out of all the music I listen to, I find metal to be the most diverse of all the genres I listen to. If only people would seek out metal from beyond the norm...
