Metallicas Master of Puppets album is set to be re-done by new bands including Trivium, Funeral for a Friend and Fightstar...For more info click the source link

Yeah, they're basically a poor man's Biffy Clyro (according to my friend :p )

Sounds absolute crap.

Seconded, we don't need shitty nu-metal bands making Metallica's image even more tarnished.

I for one find covers of my all-time favourite album's songs interesting, i will give this a go.

isn't it a bit too late for Metallica's image to be tarnished?
i mean after the whole Napster thing...im not sure it could get worse.

Lol 'Tallica's image is poor after Napster, St. Anger and little news on a new record!

Will pick this up, Kerrang is nice n cheap :D

Jeebus! How many Metallica tributes does the world really need? This one sure doesn't look worth it to me (though I must admit that Mastodon and INCREDIBLE).

Buy any of these--they are worlds better:

Metallic Assault: A Tribute to Metallica
Joey Belladonna, Scott Ian, Billy Milano, Dave Lombardo, Chuck Billy, Lemmy, Vernon Reid--do I have to continue??? To have all these incredible talents on one album is supremely mind-blowing!!

Metallic Attack: The Ultimate Tribute
--OK, covers by Motorhead, Flotsam & Jetsam, Death Angel and Dark Angel??? Sign me up!!!

A Tribute to the Four Horsemen
--A Destruction cover of Whiplash and a Tankard cover of Damage Inc.??? Those two songs alone are worth the price of admission!

Death Angel's cover of 'Trapped Under Ice' is awesomesomesome. Not heard the Metallic Assault CD, though, but with people like Chuck Billy and Belladonna/Scott Ian involved its gotta be awesome.

(In other news - Scott Ian is playing a bodyguard in the upcoming movie Deadwood. He looks awesome.)

Why the helll would you want to listen to covers of already rubbish songs? :p

Metallica, while influential, have produced a HELL of a lot of absolute arse that's a chore to listen to.

After Garage Inc, I pretended they disbanded. It was just easier for me that way.

Get your Indie propaganda out of this Metal thread Badge! :p

:p

I admit I do like the odd Metallica song.. I'm by and large referring to ReLoad and beyond!

Ah, the 'light-weight' stuff as some would refer to that stuff as!

I love it all, mood has a big factor in it, like at the mo i'm going for old skool live stuff \m/

Other times prefer the Load/Reload stuff

All is amazing to me, wana see how this Puppets tribute works out
