Metastasis 2 mod crashes at startup

I just downloaded the Metastasis 2 mod and I've tried starting it up, but everytime it blackens the screen, and at the point where it should show the menu (or at least the background image), it goes back to my desktop without errors.

I've tried reinstalling the game and that doesnt fix it. All of my other games work on steam...

Is there a way to log whats going on to see what its having a problem with?

Try setting your desktop res to the default res of Metastasis. If you have a low end gfx card, this might fix the error.

i have a high end gfx card and the latest drivers. how do i know what the default res of Metastasis is?

Changing my res to 1024x768 fixed it Thanks vikram!
