Metroid Prime

With Metroid Prime 2 : Echoes not too far away (two weeks from tomorrow :thumbs: ), I've decided to replay metroid prime 1 and try to actually finish it.

The farthest I've gotten in MP1 was the phazon mines, also known as "the gauntlet". Shitloads of hard ass enemies and few save points.

Anyone else play the first game? It's excellent.

I have the first game and I plan on getting the second game cause it looks awesome...the first one was very good...and no I haven't passed it either. The last part I got to was the part where samus gets her last suit and maybe a little farther than that..basically to the point where I gotta find all the artifacts.

DAMMIT! in november there is San andreas, MP2, halo2 and Hl2 coming out... not to mention the scource games and all the shitloads of games i have recently bought (like fable, burnout 3 and jedi knight)... BUT IVE ALSO GOT MOCK GCSES AND SHITLOADS OF COURSEWORK

i have no time for anything anymore :/

I find it hard to believe a lot of people haven't beat MP1 because it was "too hard". A couple of weeks ago I beat it on hard mode and only died once, only because I made a stupid mistake.

Yep, I have played Metroid Prime and like it very very much. I have yet to beat it though.
Don't remember exactly were I’am at the moment (haven't played it for almost a year), but I know I did defeat Omega Pirate (damn hard boss) before I stopped playing.

If thats true, then you dont have much left to do at all then. All you need to remember is to ALWAYS keep moving in battle, using the strafe jump at all times, and the game will be fairly easy. And to find the artifacts, go to the temple near the beginning and scan the pillars, they'll give you hints on how to find them.

well when I quit the first time, I was at the phazon mines. I dont remember if I was at the point where i needed to collect artifacts..

Metroid Prime was great fun! I loved everything about it and the end-boss was heaps fun.

Metroid is one of those underrated game series that always passes under the radar of a culture obsessed with Zelda, Mario, GTA, and Halo.

In my opinion, it's better than all of those.

The final boss was hard enough as it was... :O

After you learn its attacks and the pattern it uses, you can easily take it down. I beat it on hard and i only lost a couple of energy tanks.

And I've heard that there was a twig in the boss room that you can stand on to avoid the shockwave-like attack, not sure if it's in the pal version.

I finished most of it but i still have a couple of things to find before the final boss. Can't find the memory card tho.

I don't really care much for the 2nd Metroid Prime. First one just didn't appeal to me.

Metroid Prime has been one of the few more recent games to actually get atmosphere right...

Soooo much detail and interactivity and just solid ass gameplay.

Oh yeah, I'm fired up like a mofo. More so than for Halo, which I'll probobly buy after I beat HL2 and MP2: Echoes.

I breezed through Hard mode too (that was probably my fourth complete time through though, so its not surprise), except for the last boss. I still to this day haven't been able to beat him.
