Metroid Zero Mission Troubles

Being 3am I couldn't be bothered going through FAQ's for the answer to this. Anyway I just got the first Enviroment suit and can't seem to find a way back out.

The path that takes you in is blocked by one of those pods that can be eaten by the little purple bugs (if that makes sense).

Any suggestions or links to decent FAQ's would be appreciated.
