MGS4.... Sony needs to step it up or else...

Haha, awesome... Konami's finally growing some balls.
 
It strikes me as a sort of catch-22: Konami doesn't want to keep it exclusive if the PS3s don't sell but they won't sell like they want unless they release the darn game for it!

I would imagine it would come to the 360 eventually, but I really don't think it will happen for a year at least and it depends on so much that its impossible to predict unless they come out and say it officially. Time will tell....
 
OK...you have two relatively identical consoles. One of which just so happens to have roughly 3x the market share of the other.

At some point this has nothing to do with loyalty...this becomes smart business sense. If you want to make a lot of money nowadays on your massive budget games...you have to multiplatform. RockStar saw the writing on the wall...Capcom saw the writing on the wall...Konami is next. You certainly don't go exclusive on a console that, up to now, has not done very well.

Just so the fanboy crap doesn't start...I own neither and have no plans of purchasing one or the other. Perfectly happy with my Wii and PC.

Well if it comes down to first-party developers, Sony has it all over MS imho, no surprises there. Its the third-party developers that can potentially make this console race very exciting.

Not entirely--the guy in charge of FFvsXIII (for example) said in an interview that he will not leave the PS platform and I highly doubt Sqeenix will do it for FFXIII, though maybe for other games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series considering there are a whole ton of them, a few on different platforms like the PSP and DS....

I mean, they'll probably even have a character named Anthraxxx in the game when it releases anyway and he will be really dark and brooding (for the Occidentals) and always touching himself, but to great effect thanks to the power of the White Engine. Don't worry, your fantasy is safe with Squeenix. :p
 
Would be nice, that's for sure. I have no plans to purchase PS3, even for MGS4, so I'm hoping it comes to the 360!
 
Hum, I thought I read something about FFXIII comming out for X360 a few months ago... Maybe I got it mixed up somehow
 
From what I know, a majority of Japanese game companies(Such as Square-Enix, Capcom etc) arent ruled by sole persons in charge, but the decisions concerning platforms etc and sequels are actually voted on by the majority shareholders, so if they want it, it can happen.

Well, the producer/director surely still has a lot of pull and could always just leave the project if he didn't like what the suits had in mind for it of course. He actually mentioned loyalty which certainly seems to mean a lot more in Japan than in any of the other territories. Still, if the other folks who make the fund-allocating decisions decide for it, then the devs have little choice--that is why Kojima went and formed his own studio after all.
 
Heh, he says personal computer, fails to mention it will be filled with crap.

Just hope your 360 still works by release time. Mine finally died two days ago and I'm not replacing the damn thing.
