Just wanted to let you know that gametrailers.com have the extended E4 trailer. There is bound to be people here that might not of seen the full 15 minute version, so this is a heads-up


I've only played the original game, I think its because the PC ports never got too great a reviews. But I have to say this fourth installment does look like the most interesting of the lot. Especially those walkers with the fully articulated legs, beats other mechs I reckon. Find it hilarious they give them voices of cows.

Yes, but not at gametrailers.com where the HD version is. It looks really terrific!

Sorry for bringing this up again but I usually don't pay attention to console news, but I just had to say that MGS4 is the most interesting thing I've seen. Id does defenently not look like a game, but a computer graphics full lenght movie. Those two legged robot cows are just damn incredible, now I must cry because it won't show up on XBOX360 but only on PS3

If what we've seen was ingame graphics and the game has a deep storyline, I'd most likely buy a PS3 even if MGS4 was the only game to be released for PS3, that's how excited I am about this title.

The MGS series has always used in-game engine as for it's cut scenes, it's 99.9% sure that the final version will have at least this quality (or more likely even better) graphics. Plot wise I'd say it's got one of the best, the translations (or maybe it's the script) writing could definately use some work in the past games, but judging from the trailer it seems like they improved on that as well. You're definately going to miss out on a lot of plot points if you've never played MGS1 and 2, I'd highly recommend you play those games regardless. MGS3 doesn't add much plotwise but it fleshes out what happened previously and IMO featured the best segment of story in (specifically the ending) the entire MGS series. Regardless, the MGS series is one of my favorite series and I'd highly recommend you play them, Hideo Kojima is one hell of a game developer.

Ewww... playing them on a PC :| I had a friend that did that for nostalgia's sake with MGS1 on PC and it was absolute trash. The controls and the port in general seemed very lackluster compared to the console counterpart, IMO you'd be better off shelling ~$100 for a used PS2 somewhere and grab those games.

Oh almost forgot, he was playing it on a keyboard. He had an adapter for PS2 controller -> USB but I forgot how that turned out.
