The model has a total of 1873 triangles

(i included a wireframe since so many people like to see them)

make the backgorund grey or soemthing, so we can see better (render>enviroment>change color)
 
Yeah i had already tried changing the color before i uploaded it but because the wireframe is grey all colors but black it seemed to be harder to see. Ive just tried white and it seems a bit better so i uploaded that instead.
 
your getting there, looks too blocky though and the pc should be around 850 -900 for the detail, keep working
 
900 polys?? wtf? i think the general consesnsus is is 2000+- polys. And in reality it's porbably much higher.

Valve aims for 2000 in thier models. That's what a micro uzi looks like. not too many curves on it. :)
 
model looks pretty damn good...I looked over it briefly to see if anything was wrong and it looked spotless...but after I looked at a picture I saw a tiny amount of really small errors...no point in really changing the gun, but given the fact you can use alot more polys you might as well add all the detail you can...

the areas circled in red are the only places of discrepency I found...

1.) Bottom left of the handle is smooth and not a raised surface like that

2.) Middle handle is shaped differently...it juts in pretty steeply and some metal piece sticks out the back

3.) Back sight has a bolt on every one I've seen

4.) Theres a tiny little hook or something in the front of the gun...might be nice to find out what that is and model it...
 
its pretty dumb you have to host your images if you want them to show up without having to use them as a link attachment...but I'm too lazy to put them on the web...so heres a quick reference shot I used...the areas circled in red correspond to the ones circled in red on the last post...
 
It's very blocky and it makes me wonder where the polies went.
 
Ive actually cut it all the way down to 1451triangles now. But im not sure if i should make it less Blocky as some people put it as it would become untrue to the actual micro uzi which is.. blocky
 
nice work but it lacks a lil detail somethings that u can just slap on and not worry bout polys.

Oh yea, the magazine doesn't just stop at the base of the handle, it goes up until where the ejector port is. The Micro Uzi isn't actually a very blocky gun, there are lots of places you could make more curvy. For example, the front sights aren't just hard angled like that, they're smooth on the edges. The main reason why it's so high poly is because it is poorly optimized, how long have you been modelling?
