Hi Gabe,

Saw this the other day and it made me chuckle so thought I'd share it
with you:

Heh heh, Xen. Are you gonna sue your old chums?
Does sound pretty good though I must say...

Good luck with putting the finishing touches to your magnum opus, I
can't wait.

Cheers,
Krusty

Xen isnt under an copywrite so it wouldnt work to sue them.

THis "Xen" does sound quite interesting though.

Indeed it does!

*throws away C++ books*

But seriously, it does sound like a good idea :)

It seems to me to be an exciting time to be getting into the Software Development, which I will be shortly :D (hopefully)

.NET, Xen and C# are all useless to a linux programmer... I think, I'v never even thought about trying to see if they have been ported.

Unless you already program in C# I don't see how you can pay much interest in this, although I must admit useing the MySQL API is a pain in the arse, I'm not going to give up on C++ and portabuility by moveing to a new language that is basically the next version of C# which has met a rather frosty (major understatement) reception outside of windows only application developers.

Wtf this thread makes no sense to me perhaps if i click on the link all will be revealed but that means another window will pop up and i cant have that

I see your point mrchimp but Mono and dotGNU are coming on pretty nicely y'know...

I've written C and C++ for years, and believe me C# is a superb language.
Beats the arse off that slow Java stuff too :)

Heh heh - default crowbar

Java isn't slow, certain API's are (uh .. Swing)

In fact, it's quite fast on server-side apps.

Sorry to say kiddies, but your Linux days are numbered once Longhorn comes out. As a very long time Microsoft developer, I've had my share of love/hate with Mr. Gates, but since they've started embracing more standards such as XML, Linux might as well port to Mac. It can't seriously compete.. HOWEVER, Linux (which I have running on one of my machines, before you fan-boys start flaming me) could make serious gains in "Smart Devices" where the cost of the hardware comes cheap and a "free" OS alternative makes sense. I'd stay tuned for that showdown, but forget Linux as a serious competitor to MS in the development arena. Trust me, they've (MS) won that battle, and probably did so when they sealed the coffin on Borland ten or so odd years ago.
