Microsoft: "It's time to invest in PC gaming"

Is there an echo in here? From like, THREE YEARS AGO

Nothing is going to change mark my words!

Just give me exclusive playablility of Starwars Battlefront III so I can hear consolefriends weep from afar.

oh hey microsoft is investing in pc gaming again, they always do such a good job of that

They gave us Halo 2. And now they're gonna give us AOE. I mean... I guess they're trying...

**** IT.

like how alan wake was going to be a vista exclusive?
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hahaha! Yeah right. More horseshit from the horseshit generator extraordinaire. If they really meant this then certain games would not be so ****ed or canceled for PC while the 360 versions are given time to grow and blossom. :flame:

also dont forget the closure of enssemble studios, dont know if theyr latest games didnt sold much even if one of those was halo wars, but still the fact they closed such a famous studios for the age of empire game really show how they care about the pc gaming

translation= it's time to destroy PC gaming by infesting even more games with shitty GFWL shit.

yeah thats another thing

seriously what I would tell to bill gates is:

"dude, you may not have noticed but you screwed your chances on the pc
whit things like the alan wake game that never came and closing enssemble
and stoped whitt he fligh simulator games

so what I would tell you is that if you are going to invest in something invest on you kinect thing cuz what you had been doing lately in the pc isnt working and what you have prepared next will not look like is goin to work

steam got a big bunch of the sales ont he pc and even it brough gaming to the mac,the mac people is playing games!
so I tell you bill gates, forget about the pc,the relationship is over and go on whit that kinect thing before its too late"

So they are investing in the PC market again.... so long as you like AOE.
I like AoE...but not this weird little bastard cartoon child MMO AoE that is being touted all over the place now. NO confidence in it whatsoever. MS and PC gaming are and have been broken up for a while and I don't think they will ever get back together.

I dunno... I don't really care if Microsoft does PC games as long as they don't make Windows hate them. Windows 7 has been pretty good about it.

We'll see if they mean it this time. As I said in a thread I made about this, their new "effort" to revive GFWL will be a wasted opportunity if they just released these 3 titles, then walk away and think that people will come to GFWL in huge droves (both PC Gamers and developers). Much work is still needed no thanks to years of neglect. Microsoft must release more AAA titles for GFWL, and port their 360 exclusives if they have to. Also, GFWL desperately needs some more polish and features added. If they fail to do this, over time people will once again leave GFWL and this time they won't come back no matter how much their fan(atical)boys flame and troll their own forums and other forums. And already because of their broken promises in the past to focus more for the PC, I read many PC Gamers taking this news with a grain of salt at best.

A few days before this announcement I was considering uninstalling GFWL from my PC, as I only have 2 titles for GFWL(Gears of War and Fallout 3. I've already played the hell out of GOW, spending probably well over 150 hours hours with it. And Fallout 3, as much as I love it I can't play it since it locks up every 10 minutes), compared to the +30 titles I have with Steam. Add the recent instability problems I have with GFWL, and you can see why I considered uninstalling GFWL for good. I'll keep it in my PC for now and see if they actually follow through with their promise.

I'm not so sure about Microsoft on this now. The more I think about it, the more I think they may just release these 3 titles and then walk away, putting much more focus on the last years of the XBox 360 and their next console that will precede it. Other than those 3 titles Microsoft has been pretty vague, at best, on future releases for GFWL. And they haven't talk about any updates for GFWL, such as an updated version that is more polished and has more features.
