Microsoft taking a survey of Linux users

Looks good :D I used to use Linux.. but that was for one day lol

Now should I help microsoft to defeat Linux, let me think about this for a second.

Ya it is wierd telling Microsoft what I think they should do when I would like to see Linux become the norm. Im not sure what I should do yet.

drop an F-Bomb on Bill Goates! :)
Why would I want to use an OS that sucks big hairy bull balls? Ill stay with linux. :)

Woah...your OS can suck your balls...not only that, but big hairy bull balls. Im sure theres gotta be a market for that.

Seriously though, it would be nice for Windows to incorporate more linux features, but linux is still better. Having said that, the bottom left corner of my screen has a rounded green button featuring the windows logo and the word "start".

I think they'll stop reading my entry as soon as they see my computer came with the Amiga OS, but if they don't they will be crying themselves to sleep tonight muhahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaha.

Oh yes I'm so good.

15. List the top one or two possible improvements that you would like to see made to Windows.

"Start over from scratch."

Woah, So the next version of windows will be called crapinux?

i dont like that. Microsoft trying to steal customers from linux now. I hope linux finds a way to start becoming a bigger threat to microsoft. Whats a little good ol' competition to lower prices.

Windows shouldnt be such a resource hog compared to linux and i would like the same stability...

I have Windows XP, and guess what, it doesn't suck. It doesn't crash, plus I render a lot. Weeee... Am I in Axis of Evil now?

microfts new plan for security/palidium horrifies me...... /cries

wtf... I mean unique hardware microprocessors that have a microsoft signature..... O HELL NO its bad enough they own the software buisness.... stay the hell away from my hardware :monkee:

I think they're doing this to exploit the weak points Linux has according to its users, not to enhance windows, or make windows more linuxy.

My windows XP doesn't crash either unless i get viruses which happens alot, of course I could get a firewall and virus killer but then I have to put up with them running in the background along with all the other useless crap that windows XP comes with. So instead i just use Linux for everything but gameing.

Poseyjmac: please no not again

please. you windows haters hate windows because you dont know how to tame it.

go here

http://www.blackviper.com/

and you can find out how to reduce the amount of xp processes/services running to 4 if you want to. you basically make a new hardware profile, which you can select on bootup. i have a profile thats very chiseled, can't print, can't share files, can't do pretty much anything but play games, web browse, and play games online, but its very nice and uncluttered.

ugg not another big Windows sucks/is good debate. I'm gonna give my views of on the subject and then that is it. I have used the following Microsoft OS's for extensive periods of time: DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, 98, ME, XP home.

I have had alot of experience with Microsoft products and I can still safely say that they suck monkey balls. The only OS that was actually good for its time was DOS (debatable) and windows 3.1 (also debatable). All the other ones are resource hogs for the computers they were meant to run on for the time, very unstable (windows XP is the most stable but then it has other problems), contain a multitude of unwanted features and lock out many of the features I would like to have access too. There are alot of other reasons that make me hate Microsoft products but I won't get into them.

Nothing that anyone can say will change my view of windows. Anyone that knows a history of computer OS's and how alot of them worked and what they could do will probably understand the reasons why so many people hate Microsoft OS's.

Yep, hate and use Windows. Because frankly, not whole a lot of people want to use Linux. Maybe at work, and that's about it. I guess I am one of the lucky ones, I never really had any problems, not a lot of viruses either. So when people start screaming in fury "OMFG my windows sucks hairy balls", I look at it with a smile.

Plus Windows is MUCH more popular than Linux, this why it get so many viruses written for it, because guess what? Most of households have computers with Windows OS, not Linux.

I'm kinda like that.

It's funny (please no-one take offence) that Linux users are always 'holier than thou', and the only people worse in that sense than Mac users :)
:D

More stable OS

More secure

faster

less RAM/CPU demanding

Oh yeah, and text based :) :)

How would it be possible for it to sux meh ballz? =D

Yeah, it's text based... if you don't install a GUI. You can make Linux look almost exactly like Windows if you want to... except for the fact that it would be running faster. Though, I guess you could throw in a bunch of useless code to slow it down.

Interesting how your windows needs seem to be exactly what linux can give you :P

Personally, I think the only way Linux can become a real alternative for me, and many others probably, is good (fast, non emulated) support for games. Too bad that's just about impossible, because microsoft builds directx... :/

All Linux needs is something like MacDX was for Apple computers. It's a graphics API that works very similar to DirectX so that developers can convert DirectX games to Macs will very little effort (compared to recoding it in OpenGL). Though, Microsoft can't sue because it is all original code... it just has similar methods.

If Linux had something like this and some support from big developers Linux might become a viable option for gamers (I say might because Macs still aren't gaming machines).
